--- the crowd was a dead one, but there wasn’t much else to expect from a wednesday gig. ( middle of the week gigs were always quiet, spare for a few groupies and local lowlifes. ) that’s the part the glamour of the job doesn’t show, though if you were to ask oren – there wasn’t much glamour to the gig at all. not that jorn agrees, because he cycles through groupies like he’s being damn well paid to. oren is reminded of that tonight, not even twenty minutes after they close the show -- - dirty sock on van door and all; screw bassists and their narcissism, man - --

“are you kidding me, jorn?” he’s sweaty and feels particularly greasy, wants nothing more than to head back to his shitty apartment that was, at the least, warm and came with a shower. but no, now he had to bid his time because his bandmate ( and roommate, unfortunately ) didn’t know how to keep it in his pants until they got home. he slams a fist against the back doors, huffing off with a “fuck you, asshole.” he’s already lit a cigarette by the time he gets back inside, the hit sitting like charcoal against the back of his throat. the green room isn’t anything more than a few torn up couches pushed into a room as big as a closet, but oren settles himself there with the rest of the lingering familiar faces, taking another pull from the stick in his hand. it’s where he spots him – the same head of blonde hair he’s been almost sure has been around this whole week, and the one before. the guy doesn’t quite look like he knows anyone around here, but he doesn’t seem to be moving from his spot to the side.

“isn’t it past curfew for you, kid?” he asks, eyes narrowed as he gives him a onceover. arms stretching back, oren blows out a wispy plume of smoke before jutting a chin in gesture. “you lookin’ for a free cd or somethin’?” ( @byvn )
