Edit scheme

If you would like to change the editor’s scheme in Komodo IDE/Edit you need edit it in Edit → Preferences… than choose the „Category” Fonts & Colors. From drop-down list you can choose one of the default system schemes that will be a base for your custom scheme.

If you need to make any changes to the selected scheme you can:

add a new one via New… button or

select a scheme and change/edit any value (e.g. prefered font).

In both cases there will be displayed a new dialog where you need to enter a new scheme name. Note that the scheme you are creating will be based on the currently selected scheme.

After you have named your scheme you can edit all values and preferences of it.

Backup & restore your scheme

If you have created a custom scheme in Komodo you can find the scheme file:

Windows (Vista or newer): C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\ActiveState\KomodoEdit\<version>\schemes\<scheme_name>.ksf

Linux: /home/<user>/.komodo[edit|ide]/<version>/schemes/<scheme_name>.ksf

where:

<user> is your user/account name in Windows/Linux [IDE|Edit] und [ide|edit] stand for Komodo IDE and Komodo Edit <version> is the number of the current installed Komodo IDE/Edit (e.g. 8.0) <scheme_name> is the name of your Komodo custom scheme

If you would like to restore your scheme or any other .ksf file you can open it with Komodo – the application asks you whether you would like to import the color scheme into Komodo (other option is to open/edit the file as a simple text file). You can also open and edit the .ksf file with any other text editor (like Notepad++).
