Neume
As I write this in your tongue, I can't pretend to not know that as soon as my words take shape you’ll decide your language has been stained, tarnished by our knowledge and usage of it, so you'll run off to the what you consider the abandoned corners of the world, despite its soil being older than your principles, and look for another one you can tear off the vents that have fed it for centuries, all to eat your way through a perception where my concatenated words loose their weight, where phonetics can only be read as a dissonance to unstain yourself from our grief, and you'll do it not out of repentance but out of indignation.
Yet I'll go on trying to get you to see how your individualism has torn open my insides, how it suffocates the space that once existed in stasis, because our voice grows tired of being forced to placate you, false redeemer. I turn my last breaths into a mantra for the eradication of your poisonous blood and the discourse that drips down your opportunistic mouth. But as I've come to find out, the discernment-eating bacteria in your saliva has also reached your preys, turned them into hungry creatures anxiously waiting for their turn to parasite what they've claimed as a birthright by infatuation.
Under your persuasion worship and adoration can't be separated from ownership, it’s subjugation not coexistence. Maybe that’s why you can claim to love something yet, once it’s entrusted to you, not blindly given as you'd like to believe, your first instinct is to rip it asunder in the name of understanding an existance that lost the sense of fulfilment long ago. You dissect life in search of meaning and when that’s not enough you dissect meaning in search of myths where you can hide from meaninglessness. Didn’t you feel the equilibrium snapping under your jaws? Isn’t it burdening to carry rotten flesh and mangled teeth around your neck as the keys to gates that were never locked?
When you look at Her, can’t you hear her cries over the sound of your appetite? Isn’t She the tissue in your lungs, don’t you breathe through Her, don’t you inhale Her, don’t you protect Her with your ribs, isn’t your heartbeat a fragmented echo of hers? Isn’t She the only true tangible God, all cardinal points, the genesis that you’ve been so desperately searching for in metaphors? You've quenched your thirst with her arteries because you've mistaken her mercy for submission, so why is her wrath seen as savage while his is just?
I hope her Soil rejects your bones, I hope you forget the thrill of her Breeze, I hope her Sea leaves your carcass adrift and all beings refuse to consume you to feed Her; I hope you're laid to decompose by the rage of all her creatures, the ones you’ve murder in the name of another god who can only exist if the lines between creation and creator are blurred. You must remember by now that we exist not by impersonating her, we are merely the outcome of her survival instincts, not greedy reproduction. It's her freedom that has nurtured us, where we are both the mimicry and the model, not helpless lambs in need of herding.
She resides everywhere, even in her miscomprehensions. She knows how to beckon me with an anthem I’m no longer versed in, to cleanse me, to reset the chemical composition, to sooth the ache of what I didn’t get to be this time, to welcome me into her viscera. And as I break into patterns that cycle back to Her, not with anger, but not inmune to uncertainty either, I can’t ignore the horrific possibility of the umbilical cord that ties me to Her snapping under your itching fangs.
I don’t fear her nothingness, as even in her dark, void of theory, nameless to Herself, there’s accretion; I do fear her demise, fear the parting. Yet, once in her guts, after wandering back into infinite consciousness, through her drying eyes, we can finally see you for what you are: absurdity, kneeling before defaced ikons, praying to murky waters.
No idea why this is so long when it’s so shitty, sorry to whoever reads it and thank you.
