Meet Em!

His body is segmented from the waist down. He can walk on them but he prefers floating. In fact he doesn't like being too close to the ground for long at all.

He's a hyper but well-meaning kid, the sort that gets into trouble because he doesn't realize pulling the hair of the other kids is a bad thing. He's a sporty kid too who loves running and play time with his parents.

He likes to mimic everything his parents do, so he's very into music even at a young age. He loves his dad's cool dance moves too.

They got a lot of the alien genes from the vibing parent. Speaking of vibing, this kid got nothing of Madi’s hyperness. This child talks reeeeeally slowly. They are very capable of driving Madi nuts, but they don’t mean anything by it.

They’re fond of colours and crazy patterns, which is good because neither mother knows anything about fashion. You can’t tell by the image but those are jelly bracelets that were popular in the 80s.

Their feet are not attached, but they can’t go in different directions. They can only do pink symbols in their head, which is the only hint that maybe they would have had Madi’s hair colour.

The outer squares move, and one parent affectionately calls them ‘Bootleg Windows’, the other calls them ‘Treebeard’ because of the slow talking.

Sphinx

The enigmatic child of two enigmatic individuals, Sphinx is entirely mute and communicates through sign language, writing, and the occasional tapping of morse code. They’re WILDLY chill, near never finding a reason to make a fuss about much of anything.

"You know 1010!! I'm adding you to my list of favourite people now. I keep having to stick to just talking about them with fanclub members because I guess the rest of Metro is so oversaturated that they're like 'please don't, not them again' and then I'm just like 'but whyyyyy?' Sigh." She didn't actually sigh, instead she said the word. Probably because she can't actually sigh anymore.

At the question about looking for beachgoers in the middle of the night, she just shakes her head.

"Nope, but it's always fun to stumble on someone or something out here. If all I found today was a nice shell it would still be a win! But, instead I found you which is a bigger win! I'm here because the waves make good sound bytes for mixing."

She's nodding, either in general or to her own commentary. It's hard to tell if she's staring at the vaporwave artist or not.

“Wait what? Why would they live in Metro if they don’t want to hear about 1010? That’s just wack. It’s like if someone hates music and chose to live in Vinyl city... The fools.”

She scoffs at the thought and shakes her mainly 2 dimensional head.

It was really something hearing this one talk. Made her head spin trying to keep up. Sound mixing? Well I guess that made sense considering her choice of head.

And now she’s an arm rest? Alien rest? She’s not quite sure but she can feel the light pressure of the other artist above her.

“Now that you mention it, it is kind of nice. I didn’t think about it before but I remember not liking the cold back when I wasn’t grey and mostly metal. Cold sucks, it’s bad for electronics.”

There’s a pause. She can’t really glance up without tossing the alien off. So instead she raises one hand and points at the other.

“Ah? Oh I do it for both reasons. Right now I’m doing it to prevent more snow from seeping into my shoes. Other times I do it to feel tall. As for leaning on you. nah. I’m doing that just to bug you there, launchpad mcquack.”

it takes phantasma a couple seconds to actually process what was being asked. she’s a little wary, but the question seems innocent enough. and hey, who was she to turn down two free tacos ?

“Aha~ You don’t need to worry about that because.... Bam!” she pulls out another one of those coupons.

“I got myself one! That means 4 whole free tacos! The coupon says 1 use per person, so... Even if I wanted to hoard free tacos, I wouldn’t be allowed to...”

She’d rather give the extra coupon away to someone than let it expire without giving out 2 deliciously free tacos. Come now.

Meet... Lauriel

Their existence transcends gender. It transcends this realm. Have you ever heard vaporwave dubstep? No? Would you LIKE to?

They are not quite feral, nor are they gentle and shy like Lex; They’re a bit mischievous , but ultimately they just... Vibe. Ultimate vibeage. They will vibe while causing problems.

Lauriel is a bit curious, a bit softspoken, with a love for LOUD, DEEP Bass-y music that is horrendously Anti-Vibe. They proceed to continue vibing with it, even though the room is shaking with the bass.

“Isn’t that a bit loud?”

Yup.

“Doesn’t it bother you?”

Nope.
