I am bored so I’m starting a tag game!

what languages do you speak? Do you have just one first language/language spoken when you were little? Multiple? Do you still speak them? How about ones you learned later? Are you fluent? that sort of thing

I’ll start! My first language is English, but I’ve been learning Spanish for five years and counting and I consider myself mostly fluent (not native level by any means but I can read/listen/write/speak well enough, and my abilities there aren’t much worse than in English, though my vocabulary is definitely less robust). I know a bit of French from my mom and middle school, and can figure some other things out à la Spanish. I can also swear in six languages (I don’t but I could lol)

despite being born into an ARABIC family, and into an ARABIC country, english is my first language!! and arabic is my 2nd but im fluent at both :] i wanna learn spanish and japaneesseeeee.....

Haha, um, I speak Spanish and English, plus a tiny bit of italian! (When I say tiny I mean MINISCULE.)

Spanish was the language spoken in my family as a kid! It was so I'd learn Spanish at home, and English at school! My dad speaks italian from his time in rome, though.

With italian, not really.

Are you fluent?

Mostly??? Fluent in English and somewhat in spanish, not at ALL in italian

So I'm fluent in Polish and English, I also know bits of German from school and stuff but I'm not really good with it, I also know bits of Japanese but it's really bad, wanted to learn it before but I'm too lazy and forgetfull to get into a learning rutine

My first language was Polish and af for English I'm within the language learning journey for about 9 years already

My parents wanted me to learn german when I was little cause I'm half german myself but it's cause of my dad's work and I don't have any family there so there wasn't much pressure and I've never actually learned it

I'm fluent in french (OFC) and I'm very good at English, almost fluent I'd say???? Idk but I have a great British accent

I'm learning German and Russian though I can't speak much of both. In German I can say "Ich bin ein Kartoffelsalat" and in Russian I can say uhhhh RLLY not much, I mostly know words here and there (don't blame me I only have the equivalent of 6 months of learning Russian 3 hours/week ok???)

I used too learn/know German,but later on forgot it since

I'm in learning for Japanese,which I know a decent length but it's not that good,I know simple phrases slightly,I'm learning Russian and french,tho I might drop french maybe

And according too my mom when I was younger I had learned fluent Italian but later on forgot too speak it :P

unfortunately i am only fluent in English ,,,, hahaaaahhh ,, my mother tongue is Hindi , but i can understand it less and less nowadays ..!! i would like to relearn it someday !

i am learning French at school and Japanese by myself , and i 'd say i 'm at an intermediate level with both ..?

i 've also studied German at school .. and Spanish , and Ancient Greek , but a very small amount . actually , the languages i am most interested in right now are toki pona and Ainu :3 i 'd also like to look at more Slavic languages since i 've recently become fascinated by them !!!

so yeah . maybe i 'm a jack of all trades and a master of none . but .. i love hearing and talking about languages , so if anyone read this far , yap to me about your languages and i will listen INTENTLY :3

I grew up in a bilingual household, but was never incentivized to learn my secondary language.

How about ones you learned later? Are you fluent?

I learned Spanish a lot later; though I had a foundation to go forward with because of my upbringing, I learned most of it in high school and am still lacking in vocabulary. I did pass my AP Spanish exam, though, if it means anything, and I'm a better listener and reader than speaker.

My family only speaks English so that’s what I grew up around. I got some exposure to Spanish though school because my community has a very large hispanic population, but not enough to learn more than a little slang.

I started French in high school and am continuing my studies in college. I am partly fluent— I know my grammar rules and have a solid base vocabulary, but I don’t have people to practice with so my vocabulary is lacking. I’m much better at speaking and writing than I am at reading though.

I know some basic Japanese as well because I visited the country a few years ago and wanted to know enough to be respectful.

I am also currently learning Irish Gaeilge out of curiosity and because my family is largely from Ireland.

Nope only english and it's the only language I really speak I only speak french when I have to in french class.

English! I know some German, and a tad of Spanish. Im thinking about trying to learn Greek and Japanese after I get better at german! Plus my keyboard settings are in English, Spanish, German, and Greek

Nope! Well technically its just English, but my extended family did teach me a little Spanish when I was a newborn to about 7. And ya I still speak in the little Spanish I know, couldn't hold a conversation tho </3

German! I wouldn't say im fluent, but i can understand the basics. Im using my dads old German work to learn because he also knows German ^^

I speak a little bit of Spanish, I speak some Arabic, I speak some Japanese and a tiny bit of french

Do you have more than one first language? English and I guess also Arabic, I still speak it sometimes but I can understand what others are saying when they speak it way better

What about the ones you learned later, are you fluent?

Japanese I can speak some and sing in it and understand a lot when someone is speaking and for Spanish I can speak some but again mostly understand when others speak and French barely, I know lots of words but that's it
