Hello and welcome~
Hi there, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who's joined me here on tumblr! I've been experiencing a very big boost in traffic across my socials and it can be a lot to keep up with, so forgive me if I missed a question or comment. And even though I've had my tumblr account for a few years, I sometimes still feel like I'm learning how to use it, but I'm getting better lol. Thank you for your patience! 💖
Some common questions I get that I thought I'd answer here~
FAQs: Wood burning edition
What burner do I use?
I use a Colwood Super Pro 2! I've gone through several types of burners (some of the more accessible ones like the kind you can get at a craft store for around $30) until I finally decided I enjoyed wood burning so much, it was time to invest in a stronger model. I really enjoy mine and feel like it's better on my hands (because boy does your hand get a workout when wood burning!). I'm holding a heavier/thicker pen PLUS it's literally hot! Not burning ofc, but you can feel the heat radiating off the tip!
I have a tiktok about it here:
What paints do I use in my work?
I use a mixture of Arteza watercolor paints, some Coliro pearl paints and a travel tin paint set (72 colors). I realize now that I should put together a list of the things I use that include links to help make things easier! So I promise I'll be working on that soon and just add it to my Carrd link that can be found linked on all my socials.
Does wood burning get smokey?
Yes a little but nothing too crazy. I personally prefer to burn outside in a shady spot, but during the extreme summer heat this summer I had to burn in the kitchen with the vent fans way up. Also I always wear a mask when burning. I'm going to be upgrading to more heavy duty mask soon so I'll be including that link at a later time when I get it and test it out.
How long does it take to wood burn?
It depends on the size of the piece, but I think the longer pieces took anywhere between 10 to 18 hours spread out over a couple of days. In all it took me a whole month from start to finish to make eleven pieces and I basically worked each day. BUT it was so worth it! I really love wood burning and it brings me a lot of joy to make whimsical and magical pieces.
ANYWAY That's all I could think of right now but of course if you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask! And if you don't follow me on my other socials I try to be as active as possible across the board so be sure to check me out! Thank you again for your support and I hope you have a lovely day!
~Vero.Doodles
P.S. Some of these pieces are still available up on my website!

I can't do much but maybe this will interest someone. This cookbook is by a classically trained autistic chef, made for people with sensory issues. It's sold 1/6th of its initial run because apparently no one wants to have an autistic person interviewed on TV.
Apparently it's also very funny.
An accessible family cookbook that offers solutions rather than tricks to empower the food-averse, autistic, and picky eater, with 46 recipe
Spread this around! I bet someone here can use this.
More info from the link:
"An accessible family cookbook that offers solutions rather than tricks to empower the food-averse, autistic, and picky eater, with 46 recipes. This much-needed cookbook combines tips and techniques with a dash of understanding about food aversion and how to help your kids—and yourself—cook beautiful meals in an empowering way, and is a groundbreaking resource for anyone who has ever been called “picky” or “discerning.” Learn how to alter the texture or taste profile of a dish, or even fit it within a specific palette with a unique color-coded guide. Delicious, nutritious, and easily tailored recipes (including for gluten-free and vegan eaters) include:
the perfect smashed cheeseburger
Italian sausage and potato soup
the best omelet
stuffed focaccia
chocolate pinwheels
and dozens more
Professional chef Matthew Broberg-Moffitt’s advice is broken down by category (The Five Tastes, Texture, Color, Aroma, Presentation, and Plating) in order to address each and every aspect of food aversion, and a Food Preference Profile and Worksheet is included for you and your child to quickly identify and summarize their preferences. Instead of leading to mistrust by disguising or slipping in foods your kids don’t want to eat, this cookbook supports caretakers in a way that maintains a healthy relationship with food, and a joyful, less stressful experience around the table."

Okay if I open up proper commissions on Artistree how many of you would actually commission me
I would buy a commission
I would NOT buy a commission
I would buy a commission BUT I don't have the funds right now
for context the quality of my work is under the cut and it would be priced from 30-70 dollars depending on what it is
