#VAMPATRIARCH, indie, mostly private & selective, low activity CARLISLE CULLEN from the twilight series. heavily anti-s. meyer. characterization is based off of the movies as well as my own personal interpretation. leaning into more of the horror themes of vampirism, focusing on turning into what you were raised to hate & hunt and staying good through it all. extremely flexible verse wise. bitten by marina, 27, she/her.
hey, i'm marina, 27! i am a full grown ass woman so there will be nsfw content present. no smut because i don't rp smut publicly, but suggestive stuff is completely okay! nsfw content might include suicidal thoughts, violence, blood, and gore.
my other blog is evilstalks!
while i love twilight, i know stephanie meyers is a terrible person and do not agree with her personal views + her interpretation of native people. i'm trying to stray as far away as possible from the twilight universe-- however, i am ABSOLUTELY okay with writing with other twilight muses!
pre-established bonds are fine with me if our characters canonically know each other. i am also willing to plot out pre-established stuff with anyone too, since carlisle has been around for 300ish years, he has met A LOT of people from all over the world.
i love shipping sooooooo damn much. i am very open to shipping but carlisle will not be romantically interested in anyone that is very young (he's 300+ years old, you gotta be 40+ to ride this train) or in anyone that is a straight up evil person/being. in verses where i ship him with others, he was unable to save esme in time.
**and yes he is bisexual-- he is way too old to NOT be extremely sexual fluid lol.
i am very flexible with putting carlisle into other universes-- i just can't do anything animated for him, but for the most part, he can be tossed into pretty much any alternate universe.
most importantly: this blog is VERY low activity, low effort. i am extremely busy constantly with my full time job and school, as well as my two pets. this is also not my only blog. please do not rush me or expect my undivided attention.
if we are mutuals, it means i want to interact. i'm going to be selective about follows on this blog so i really will ONLY be following if i see the potential for interactions!
any questions or concerns, please let me know !!!!

Typically, Carlisle does not bother Will at all. He lets the other vampire keep his distance, doesn't push any socialization onto him. He knows Edward is jealous about it, knows Edward would prefer if Carlisle was the same way towards him, but their two relationships are very different. Carlisle views Edward as his son, his first child, but the same cannot be said for Will at all. There's no familial bond between them, Carlisle simply holds a soft spot for Will, wishes to help him and has had no problem extending his heart and home to the other. It's been nice-- Will is polite, always offers to help around the house. It's clear to Carlisle that Will doesn't want to be a burden of any sort, but he's never thought of him that way. If anything, he wishes Will would speak up more, become more comfortable saying what he thinks and feels. He doesn't rush it, though. After all, as vampires, there's nothing they have more than time.
"I hope you don't think you have to say yes just because you live here. Trust me, I won't get offended." His smile doesn't falter, kind and genuine, sympathetic. Still, he knows Will is most likely hungry, just like Carlisle is. Hunger doesn't affect Carlisle the way it affects most vampires, but it's definitely best to fix it before it gets too painful. He's dressed in his casual clothes-- a pair of slacks, a button-up shirt, a nice, dark burgundy color. It's better to hunt with dark colors.
Carlisle steps away from the doorway, beginning to head out of the house. Thankfully, they're surrounded by dense forest, so finding something to eat will be easy. "Have you been hunting before? Or, how long has it been?" He can't imagine Will had much freedom before leaving Hannibal. Once they step outside, he turns his head to Will, allowing the other vampire to lead the hunt.
when there is someone new in forks, carlisle hears of it. either through his children, or the other townsfolk (it's a small city, word spreads faster than wildfire), or he happens to catch the new smell. it's rare to have newcomers here, considering the weather of forks, the lack of attractions. still, for carlisle, it's a perfect place. of course, he's not so sure if he'd feel the same way were he not a vampire, but the truth is, forks provides the perfect cover for his family and him to live a normal life. things have been perfectly calm and safe for the past couple of years, but in carlisle's long, long life, things can't always stay good. something always happens-- most things are easily manageable of course, carlisle has solved nearly every problem in his life with words rather than violence, but there have been times where he's had no choice but to resort to the latter. it has been a very long time though, and he has no wish for that streak to be broken. but there is an anxiety that has settled in his belly upon hearing of the newcomer in their town. just a regular person to the average citizen, but carlisle has heard of the real reason the young man is here. a hunter-- one of many carlisle has run across in his life. he knows of the winchester brothers, fears them the way any other rational vampire would. he can only hope he's not the vampire on the man's radar.
"detective brown, correct? are you here for the autopsy results of margaret williamson? i'm afraid she hasn't been taken to the examiner's office yet." a warm smile is offered, a hand offered out to the younger man in a friendly introduction. he knows the man before him is not really an agent, but he plays along with the role. he's still in his hospital coat, completely wrinkle-free and as clean as can be. his honey-golden eyes scan over sam's face, and it only takes a second for him to recognize another dead man, living but unbreathing. another vampire. not the same as him and his children, but-- his jaw tenses slightly, but his smile doesn't falter. / @shotgunscn
by the way, since i am a nasty whore for ships, unless i am writing with twilight characters, it's mostly assumed carlisle is single. he either never met esme or wasn't able to save her in time, so he has never had a long-term partner. however, he will still always have his gaggle of kids and he will always absolutely be 100% a hopeless romantic, thank you.

"relax-- i promise i only want to help. you're hurt, right? i'm a doctor, please let me help." carlisle realizes the circumstances seem off, dangerous even, but he's not worried about something happening to him. he can protect himself just fine if push comes to shove. of course, he doesn't plan to resort to violence unless he absolutely has to. he can smell the others' injuries, his brows pinching together in slight worry. just to further show his harmless intentions, he raises his hands next to his head, proving he doesn't have any weapons on him. // OPEN.
He hoped she ran...that she ran as fast as she could and found shelter, used whatever trick she could conjure to lure help to her side as he fought the vampire that pursued them, he was never expecting to win but it was never about victory, it was about gaining his precious jewel time to flee, each second to a young vampire was distance... Another vampire approached, Lestat thought him to be one of them... Yet blond hair and kind eyes pierced through the haze of injury instead of one of them. Could he trust another vampire? No. But did he have much choice. Did he have much choice but to place trust in a stranger when like ravenous wolves the coven circled them.
"Cl...Clau...dia. My.....d....augh...ghter.... alone..hurt. Help....her..." Weakly he gestures towards the diner in the far, far distance where she no doubt would have gone to play her part of the injured teenager needing help. Maybe she would have stolen a car by now. "P...lea...se....help....her.."
it only takes carlisle a second to realize this man is also a vampire. it is not what he's expecting at all-- after all, running into other vampires is a rare thing, something most vampires avoid too since it can go so, so wrong. but carlisle doesn't avoid his kind. he is always looking for new friends and partnerships. that's not on his mind right now, though. he's only thinking of how to help this man, worried the person-- or people-- that did this to him are still around. his guard is up, and he's grateful he's not alone, so he can prioritize both this man and his daughter.
"relax, i've got you. you're safe with me, i promise." in a split second, edward dashes at his father's side, looking at the injured vampire and then at his father for instruction. "edward, please find his daughter. claudia, right? she should be over there, at that diner." he points with his chin, and edward nods, immediately speeding off towards said diner. "if she's there, my son will protect her. can you tell me what happened? i'm a vampire too, you can trust me." slowly, carlisle places a hand on the man's shoulder, trying to help steady him and sit him up properly. while they both may be vampires, there's different strains of vampirism, so carlisle can only go off of what he knows about himself and his family.
i will write on here hopefully tomorrow, but just a little reminder, carlisle is quite possibly the kindest, most intense, passionate, selfless lover there is. he lives to serve his partner, THANK YOU.
carlisle doesn't take it personally-- will's hesitance, his seemingly clear irritation with the situation, with carlisle himself. it's a difficult spot to be in, and accepting help is not something that comes naturally to most, especially not to newly turned vampires like this. carlisle remembers edward-- his son would have died from influenza in that hospital had carlisle not changed him, but edward resented him for it at first, threatened to go against everything carlisle stood for. to this day, their relationship isn't perfect, but carlisle loves his son dearly, and he also knows he can take care of himself. hannibal has more experience and cruelty than edward, but hannibal is also a smart man... carlisle has friends, it'd be unwise to launch any sort of attack against him.
"i appreciate you worrying for my son and i, but i can assure you, edward and i will be just fine. we both have survived many targets painted on us." he pauses, honey yellow eyes trailing over will's features. he's young, not as young as edward was, but still. it's a terrible shame he's ended up in this spot. his life taken unfairly away from him, bound to someone as cruel as hannibal lecter. carlisle realizes he may be overstepping, but it's never been like him to just allow cruelty to happen.
"my father was a hunter, you know. he hunted vampires, witches. when i was turned by the same coven my father and i were hunting, i hid for days. i'd become what i was raised to hate, to hunt down. my father tried to kill me when i found him again. then he sent the rest of the hunters after me. i tried to take my own life-- in many different ways. being alone like that, for so long, was the most pain i've felt in my life. our circumstances are different, will, but i know what it's like. i want to help you. i know it won't come without risk, but it's a risk i can afford to take." another pause, a hand lifting to place itself on will's shoulder, giving a brief, reassuring squeeze. "don't worry-- you don't have to become a cullen, or join my coven. no compromises at all, i promise. you can think on it."
There is a damning flicker of hope that settles in his chest. He's aware of how selfish it would be for him to take Carlisleās offer. There are a plethora of reasons he shouldnāt, even those that extend beyond his and his creatorās tumultuous relationship. Will has gotten used to this sort of existence ā ever on the edge of society, never quite in it, always moving place to place to not bring attention to himself. He has enemies, but he daresay his maker might have more. If not him, there might be another who sought to find Will. Moreover, what might be the effect of allowing this very selfish dalliance with the idea of not being alone on Will when the time comes for him to leave? Could he recover? Or would there be an aggravatingly Cullen-shaped hole where he had grown accustomed to the gentle eyes and unwavering patience?
His brows tilt at Carlisleās story. His life and his tragedies, still managing after it all to endure the world with a gentle hand and sympathetic heart. It was undoubtedly admirable, but Will knew it to be a rarity, too. Ā Kindness often corroded in the face of cruelty.
āWill Cullen doesnāt have a ring to it.ā He doesnāt need to think about it. Somewhere in the interaction, he has made up his mind. He would not stay permanently but he would linger for a while. The company would be nice, and eventually, he can do as he always has. He will move on to the next place, parting aways amicably. However, for now, he was content with the idea of allowing Carlisle to help him, even if making this transition just smoother. The man was impossibly kind, and Will, it turns out, is susceptible. āConsider me a temporary guest.ā He smiles, tight.
carlisle knows will is at a crossways with himself. there's a lot of risk to both options-- but if will stays with hannibal, the only person he's putting in danger is himself. it's the least selfless option, but carlisle thinks sometimes it's okay to be selfish, in situations such as these. besides, it's not like will has any malicious intentions. carlisle thinks he doesn't, at least. he's usually great at judging characters, seeing more than just what's on the surface. he's not worried about will betraying his trust, but he is worried about what hannibal will do once he finds out what the young vampire has done. but whatever it is-- they'll be able to handle and overcome it, together. they'll have to work on a plan, think of every possibility, though.
"maybe not. don't worry, will, i don't plan on adopting you the way i did edward. i certainly don't see you as my son." a soft laugh leaves carlisle as he says that, hands clasping behind his back, his shoulders loosening in relief now that will has agreed. he'll have to let edward know, but knowing his son, he's either not going to care or will just help because carlisle wants him to.
"you are welcome to stay as long as you need to. i recently purchased the property-- it's quite large. you'll have all the privacy you desire. there's plenty of wildlife nearby, too." it's made hunting considerably easier. "do you have any personal belongings you can bring along? a favorite cardigan, perhaps?" he's teasing now, trying to make the air as light as possible, but he does wonder if will is just going to take his losses and leave behind any personal items he had. it's what carlisle had to do when he was transformed.

"there are few who wouldn't take pity on you, mr. graham. i've always had a bleeding heart, so you can blame it on that." a tight smile is given, his arms placed behind his back, wrist held in the palm of his hand. this is a delicate situation and they both know it, because even though carlisle has good intentions, will graham has been sired by an incredibly dangerous vampire. carlisle has no choice but to tip-toe along the situation, though he so desperately wishes to just pull will away from the danger and trouble of his life, into the safety of his own coven. he would be safe with him, and... carlisle would no longer be alone, but he recognizes that desire is something more selfish, and not the main reason he wants to help will.
"when i was changed, it was a terrible thing for me, too. i was alone, afraid. just like you, i refused to touch human blood. but it's not an easy thing... especially not with bad influences around." his smile turns softer, more welcoming. "i can help you. you just have to let me, hm?"
Will knows what a precarious existence he lives, as it has been his life since the day his maker stole the last bit of Willās agency, consuming Willās eternity with a persistent and singular objective. He would be the only thing in Willās world, consuming and eclipsing all else ā the threat was easily distinguishable and completely obsessive. So Will did as any ungrateful and scorned tutelage did. He repudiated his pedagogueās lessons, stubbornly and often at his own detriment, refusing to be an accomplice of such a continuance.
Survival did not mandate human life; it felt excessive and cruel.
He would bring scrutiny upon Carlisle and his made family. And he was not selfish enough to be that arrogant or reckless with anotherās life. Carlisle clearly cared for his coven, and Will would not wish for him to ever have to be put in such a problematic situation.āI do not need your pity, nor do I want your help.ā It lacks the bite it usually has. Will likes Carlisle if nothing else. He was admirable and honest in a way so few like them were. Nothing resided in his heart that was ugly or besmirched with greed or gluttony or malice. āYou know as well as I that if I let you help me, it would be painting a target on those you loved. Iām not that selfish, doctor.ā

The rhythmic beeping of the heart monitor provided a soothing backdrop in the operating room, calming the tense atmosphere after a whirlwind surgery. The calm was even more pronounced with two of the hospital's most renowned surgeons, Dr. Hannibal Lecter and Dr. Carlisle Cullen, working side by side. Their surgical masks concealed expressions, but their eyes were focused and intent as they meticulously stitched up the latest casualty of a highway collision. Their hands moved with precision, bypassing the nurses as they seamlessly passed instruments to each other, forming an alliance that left little room for interference. They were a powerhouse on the floor and nary a nurse intervened with their silent structure of getting the patient under control.
"Are you ignoring my invitation again, Dr. Cullen?" Hannibal quipped, his gaze fixed on the neat line he had just sutured. He set the surgical tools aside, ready for sterilization, and continued, "I fully understand schedules and how busy we are. However⦠I'm starting to suspect you are avoiding my outreach." His tone was light, his words accompanied by a subtle curve of his lips, devoid of any malice. The nurses cleaning up the area have one thing on their mind: who on earth would avoid Dr. Lecter? The same thought applies to Dr. Cullen.
In Carlisle's extremely long life, he has never met a human he has worked so well with. Yes, he typically gets along very well with humans, greatly respects and values them, but this is entirely different. Dr. Hannibal Lecter is smarter than anyone he has ever met-- or at the very least, in the top three. Which is still an enormous feat, considering Carlisle has been roaming this earth for more than three hundred years. Of course, this stays to himself. The only ones who know of his age and what he truly is are his children. None of them live with him now, but he still stays in constant contact with all of them, especially Edward. Edward has already heard a good amount about Hannibal, has joked with his father on whether or not Carlisle is going to turn him.
"You've misunderstood me, Dr. Lecter. Although I suppose that is my fault-- and I do apologize for it." Honey-golden eyes glance up at the other briefly, meeting his gaze with fondness. Underneath the mask, there is a light, warm smile. He returns his attention back to their finishing task, glancing at the clock first. A little shy of two hours, which is impressive considering the severity of their patient. But thankfully, the woman will pull through, which might not have been possible if she hadn't had the two best surgeons in the state tending to her. "Of course I'm not avoiding you. I just don't want you to bother yourself tending to just me. You are already such a busy man, the last thing I want is to add more to your plate." He steps away from the patient, allowing the nurses to step in to prepare to take her to PACU.
