My TBR is old... but I love it.
I'm currently reading The Clique (by Lisi Harrison) series. The first book was published in 2004 and I bought it from my middle school. I reread that book like three times and I have no idea why. I think it's because after each time, I tell myself "I'm gonna finish this series before I'm 30." Well I'm two years late lol. After the third time, I got serious about finishing the series. Within the years, my mom would buy me one book from the series so I already had the majority of them. Recently I had to order the ones the last ones of the series. I bought one from the summer collection but those books I will listen through audio books.
That's the sad part: the first 11 books or so, don't have audio books. I can handle without it, but because I want to finish these books before 2025, audio books would make it faster. It helps with my attention span. I can't get into other books until I finish it. I am reading other books to get a break which are Fried Green Tomatoes (listening to Audiobook while doing something else) and Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban (reading along with audiobook). But any time I see a book that I want to get into, the guilt comes in "you haven't finished a 15 book series yet and it's been ten years!"
I can get it done but man... idk how my friend does it. She can finish way bigger books in three days and it takes me a month to 265 paged book. The books aren't boring but they aren't relatable to me anymore. The drama content is good though but some things didn't age well lol. The books are about 7th grader girls and three of them are hella rich and two are middle class. At this point, it's nostalgic for me. I like the genre about the wealthy class and so forth, like Gossip Girl (which I'm thinking about getting to read but that's a can of worms). I do read before going to bed but sometimes I am so tired that I only get to read two pages and I knock out.
The only books I finished this year was: -One Day in December, Invasion of the Boy Snatchers, and The Outsiders (just audiobook and it was so good.)
I need to go back to my two books per month goal which I know can be done. It's a weird and old goal but I just need to finish these books so I can move on with my life. It's like they are stuck in time and they need closure. Or maybe it's the pressure of I have these 15 some books and I haven't read all of them yet. I'm not stressed about it but I want to focus on other books already. If this is all jumbled that's because I'm getting hungry.
I'm going to cook breakfast and read until my husband wakes up.
