My name is Eyad Alanqar, I am 36 years old. For thirteen beautiful years, I’ve been married to the love of my life, Amal Mahmoud. Together, we’ve built a humble life and raised four incredible children: Sami (11), Mohammad (9), Sarah (7), and Saad (5). We are from Gaza, a place that has endured over 18 years of siege. Despite the hardships, we were rich in love, united under one roof, and grateful for every moment together.

But on October 7th, everything changed.

💥 War erupted, and in the blink of an eye, our lives turned into a living nightmare.

That very day, an Israeli airstrike hit our home. I lost two of my beloved brothers, and the rest of my family—my siblings and I—were injured. With hospitals in northern Gaza destroyed or overwhelmed, I had no choice but to carry my wounded younger brother and head south in desperate search of treatment.

🚧 But the roads back were shut.

And just like that… I was separated from my wife and children.

For the last eight months, I’ve lived in a tent in Deir al-Balah, while my wife and children—alone, frightened, and displaced—struggle to survive in a school shelter in the Zaytoun area. We haven’t seen each other, haven’t held each other, haven’t shared a single peaceful meal together in all this time. 💔

Every day brings new fear.

🚁 Bombings never stop.

🥖 Food is scarce.

🚱 Water is undrinkable.

😢 My children cry from hunger, fear, and trauma.

Amal is doing everything she can to keep them safe, but how can a mother shield her children from war? And me… I feel helpless. The pain of being separated from them, of not being able to protect or provide, is unbearable.

I’m not asking for much.

🙏 I just want peace.

🌍 A safe place where my children can sleep without fear, go to school, have food, clean water, and a future. A place where we can live with dignity, not despair.
