That is rather alarming. I’m glad you escaped in time. Counting while going down the stairs is generally more important than counting going up, but I would still check around your home for abnormalities, just to make sure it’s still your home. And yes, closing the door is common courtesy. It keeps the heat inside the basement, and if something (or someone) was trying to get warm, I’m sure it/they appreciated it.

We have received reports about the strangely symmetrical glowing orange snowfall. It’s probably best to wait for rain. The snowfall may be friendly, and it might take offense if you call a specialist to get rid of it. I’ve also heard that it works well for dyeing clothing and towels. If you have anything you want patterned with orange polka dots, simply lay it on the grass for an hour or so, then soak it in ice water. The pattern will stay on the cloth. It’s important to take advantages of opportunities, no matter how strange they might appear. However, I do not recommend lying on the grass yourself. We haven’t developed a stain remover for symmetrical orange snowfall yet.

And several other people whose families requested remain anonymous. We do not know how they were chosen, but they have not returned. However, the people who wear animal masks and stand on street corners — the ones responsible for taking these missing people — have not been spotted in over a week now. The Pit reassured us they are gone.
