“It honestly confuses me why poeple stay here. Though i guess it confuses me why i came here.” 

“if you’re from a founding family, you’re pretty much stuck here for life. so that’s part of it.”

“it’s my sister –– she has a bad habit of getting herself intro trouble, i’m tryiong to keep her out of it.” 

“reputations don’t mean shit –– you know i was a virgin up until last year.” madeline said to the other. “don’t believe everything that you hear val.” 

“right, sorry.” val told her genuinely. “it’s just hard not to get caught up in it in a town like this.” she admitted. “but i trust you over gossip, madeline.” 

“i have a what?” madeline asked with a raised brow as they walked into the bar after getting through madelines bouncer friend. 

“you just had a little bit of a reputation in high school. that’s all.” val tried to brush it off.

“they had a very important task of keeping track of someone for me and they lost them.” the hunter said to her. 

“what was so important about this person they needed to keep track of?” 

“Though it’s starting to sound like this place isn’t the best if you want to stay alive.” 

“you aren’t wrong about that one.” she mumbled, looking down.

“what? no no no.” madeline said as she shook her head. “i have never slept with your brother.” the blonde quickly replied. “lets just drink.” 

“okay.” she exhaled. “it’s not that i’d have a problem with-- it’s just that you have a-- yknow, let’s just drink.” valerie repeated in agreement. 

“right ––– sorry about that.” he said as he looked over at the blonde before nodding at her question. “you could say that, someone just messed up a little.” 

“Alright, well have my drink and drink your drink and we are getting a third. Because we so need to get drunk over that.” 

“oh come on your siblings, especially jasper, can’t refuse some fun.” madeline said to her as they walked. “exactly, i like the way you think.” 

“oh my god.” val made a face, “are you hooking up with my brother?” she asked, then shook her head. “actually don’t answer that, tonight is a night for us to have fun.”

“Pretty sure i don’t believe that,” she said. “Everyone has drama you just need to know where to look for it. If that’s something you want to find.” 

“my dad and my brother died last year. that’s about just as much drama as my family has ever had and can handle.” 

           𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐀𝐋𝐌𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐀𝐃𝐌𝐈𝐑𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄 even so much that he’d contemplated giving her an answer that would give her mind some peace but instead he’s shaking his head. “ If you were meant to know, you would know. ” the man clears his throat, dark orbs lifting to watch over the blonde. “ Now please, do your brother a favor and stay out of it or I will personally deliver your head on a platter to him. ” a smile quickly perks up and out of his features.

angel watson ––– open starter ( can be normal or heading into the party ) 

“do not make me repeat myself carlile ––– if you fuck this up, your wife pays the price, we do not need this deal going sideways.” angel spoke into the phone to one of his workers. “just get it done and don’t call me back until everything is sorted out.” the man said before hanging up the phone and sliding it into his pocket angel sighed before standing up straight and fixing his jacket, turning around to walk into the building he was out the front of before seeing someone stand there. “can i help you with something?”

regardless of the content she had just heard, val knew she had just stumbled into a situation she didn’t like. as his eyes turned to her, she felt frozen, helpless. after a moment of floundering she gained some control over herself. “nothing, you were just making a racket.” val answered. “pretty heated conversation, huh?” the blonde feigned casual.  

“Since classes don’t start for another week or so, I’ve decided to take up a new hobby while we wait.” Mariana reassured the other with a small grin as she put the camera to their face and clicked the button to take a photo. “Say cheese!” @whitmore-starters​ 

      𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐒 𝐀 shadow over his features, watching over the others at the party. Hand stirring the drink he held onto firmly. This wasn’t where he wanted to be, it was the last actually but, it’s where he needed to be. Watching closely, monitoring. His gaze quickly shifts as the other approaches, inches before they even touch him he’s calling them out. “ I’m okay here, not really a party type. ” he’d given the same answer to the last ten people that had come up to him. @whitmore-starters​

despite his dismissal, she boldly remains in place next to him.”i know you’ve been talking to my brother all summer, i want to know why.” val demanded, keeping her gaze forward and her arms folded. in the back of her mind, she was near positive jasper had a reason for keeping some of his activities a secret. it didn’t hurt her feelings, but she was tired of not knowing. hence her brazen approach.  

     “ Fine. “ Hayley just shrugged. “ Well, I have to look out for what I want and for myself. Nothing new there. People should do the same. Study and do what they want to do in life. ” 

“Doesn’t everyone? Like it’s not really drama. Unless whatever cousin you were talking about, wants to start something. Just family life.” 

“Okay, maybe drama is the wrong word, but it all seems much more. . . eventful than the stuff that goes on in my family.”
