I think that there are a lot of factors involved when it comes to determining which Naruto character is stronger than another, such as intelligence, jutsus, strength, etc. I honestly think that the Third was stronger than Itachi, but not at the point in his life when we were introduced to him. When Orochimaru killed the Third he was pretty old, which is why he lost while Itachi didn’t. So really it all comes down to the age of the Third - younger he would have been stronger, older no. 

Yes!! My summer classes are officially over so I'm going to start posting again. Hopefully I can get a lot of gifs made and ready for when my fall classes begin sob.
