In Ghost in the Shell there is unidentified (but genuine looking) C source code (source @edboyww).
Please tweet @jgrahamc if you know what code this is.

KONFUSION
Thought it would be a great share; this song by artist Taste2 shows just how innovative and original rap music in Kosova really can be.
Even if you do not know Albanian it is worthy to listen to this for the original character and great play of voice and tone.

Black Horse and the Cherry Tree
This post is how a singer called KT Tunstall made me wish that I never see my favourite singers and artists on twitter. At a single moment watching KT Tunstall singing "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" with exceptional talent on "Later...with Jools Holland" I hoped that she was not "connected" online.
The whole idea behind the new "big-ideas" on the internet like facebook, twitter, google, soundcloud etc is about "connecting", bringing it "closer" to you and about the world being a better place. In the case of an artist I admire this is not true.
It stopped and made me think about the internet's "purpose" more than anything else. Everyone is chasing this idea and about connecting and people and places and emotions and all the rest of the crap. There is this glaze of pretence in new-age tech companies, of which I am a part of, that is arrogantly following this campaign of making the world a better place.Â
But to what end? So that you can be presented with advertising? So that you can look at the photos of your favourite artist's dog and holiday trips, backstage pics? So you can send a tweet and get replied or retweeted? Seriously.
What a pathetic result we "internet-idea-engineers" have to show.
People forget that what these sites are. They are "businesses", institutions made to make money. You start to realise that it doesn't mean that the bettering of the world will never-ever be at the top list of priorities, money will always top it off.
Some employees might personally care about providing a real world-changing product but "the company" can never support it as task numero uno. That means they'll build anything which provides cash.
For me the KT Tunstall was solely a voice. The fact that her songs were my only window only intensified my adoration for her work. I enjoyed the "music".
The truth is; "global-connection" is useful for companies, projects, science, work and occasional checking up on friends and family. Just like the telephone was once was used for.
This does not mean we have to force into every aspect of our lives. Art is one of the easiest and best examples I was exposed to. Put into perspective; people didn't ring up their favourite rock stars to see what they are doing. We now, in some way or the other, do this via twitter/facebook etc.
I still have not searched for and visited KT Tanstall's twitter or facebook pages, I don't think I will. Her work overwhelms my curiosity.
What I am saying is let's ease up on the whole "global-network" to where it actually makes sense.
 I leave you with this video of an amazing performance on the show of "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree";
