All this to say, this time last year I thought things would never get better. Three months ago, after my high school graduation, I cried myself to sleep because I couldn't imagine my future. I see a lot of young girls in this community struggling the way I have been all year. I want to say that life is long, things can take a turn for good as quickly as things can take a turn for bad, and that I have love in my heart for all of you.

I am a liar. People think I forgive them when I don't. People think I intend on keeping promises. People think they know the real me. But no one knows the real me. I don't even know the real me. It's like when I'm by myself, there's a void. Nothingness. Which is strange because not to long ago there was a lot of joy, passion, and interest there.
