Making the pledge to make make yourself a better person and improve on something is so valuable. It doesn’t have to be every day, but reminding yourself to grow can make a big difference (I am currently working on being friendlier, less fearful of failure, and more patient)!

Practicing Gothic Script. Missed out one word (debita) T_T.
This a Moonmelon, scientifically knows as asidus. This fruit grows in some parts of Japan, and is known for its vibrant blue color. What you probably don’t know about this fruit is that it can switch flavors after you eat it. Everything sour will taste sweet, everything salty will taste bitter, and it gives water a strong orange-like taste. It’s also very expensive…costing about ¥16000 JPY (which is about 200 dollars).
or you know this could be photoshopped
but idk
you tell me
this is alexandrias melon (wow)
it never grows seeds but it can still produce other melons (its magic)
it is grown deep in the jungles of peru and can prevent you from aging well into the hundreds
it is known by the natives there as k’uhul ajaw cacao shi-jiiy.
its really strange how all of these pictures look exactly the same because everything on the internet is true
This is the Peppermeloni. (seriously gosh just look at that sexy mother fucker) Its scientific name is Tumblrous Pepperonus.
The only known specimen is in a pot in David Karps treasure dungeon. It is a tradition that a single slice is given to every tumblr blog that reaches 500,000 followers.
It has the remarkable property of being as healthy as watermelon but tasting like cheesy pepperoni pizza.
This planet is really just so amazing guys wow.

The taste of this melon will always surprise you.
I’m fucking done with this site
This is the evermelon.
If you cut this watermelon a certain way you will find that it has seemingly regenerated. You can do this an infinite number of times and will have a neverending supply of melon.

Etymology: Fish 鱼
(Source)
Fish, one of the earliest historical human food. Fishing is much more favoured than hunting because the fisherman does not get fished but the hunter can become the hunted. Also, fish lives in water, humans needed water and food, so living near water source is a great convenient(not to mention easier irrigation with regular flooding cycle).
Me, having lived my entire life near the sea, had seafood in my blood. Eating seafood is very normal to me, just like to the Portuguese (notable fisheaters). However this is not the case for some, few years ago, someone from interior Africa asked me whether I eat crab. I said yes and he was baffled and asked: Aren’t they poisonous?
For people who are wondering, no they are not and they are freaking delicious.
We can once again see the Germanic sound change from p -> f.
Even back when Proto-Indo-European were still spoken, people know of fish and probably did try to fish. Attempting to fish led to new innovations and inventions, using the concept of a trap, people developed fish hooks. Archaeologists found fish hooks dating back to the stone age, it is a particularly interesting invention because it involves baiting. If I was a stone age man I wouldn’t have think of a hook thingy to let the fish come to you.
Other fishing methods were using spears and just fling it at em. The Egyptians, living near the Nile River are one of the pioneers at fishing in the ancient world, inventing ways to fish that we still use today.
鱼(yú) well, nothing much to say. It is a pictogram of fish.
Back to the first picture, the utmost right says 年々有余, the second character there represents a repeat in the first, so the actual phrase is 年年有余。
年年有余 nián nián yǒu yú
Having excess of good things(money, food, blessing) every year. To have no lack of things.
年年 lit. year (by) year 有 to have/to exist 余 remainder, excess, surplus
This phrase is very widely used in Chinese culture during Chinese New Year as a greeting and blessing. Banners/paintings/posters would often put fish alongside the phrase.
That is because the Chinese character 鱼 yú and 余 yú has the same sound and tone.
The Chinese are quite superstitious people, even at puns. One example is that you wouldn’t see the 4th floor in many lifts in Chinese cultures, but the next floor to the 3rd is the 5th. That is because four 四 sì and death 死 sǐ rhymes and they don’t even have the same tone.
If you study Mandarin, you would come across many uses of pun in classic and non-classic literature. Lots of memes would have been born in the Sino-Internet of puns.

why do all children know the floor is lava game do we all just learn it from older children and inadvertently share it with each other like some natural inevitable cycle why do children discover the floor and the concept of gravity and up and down and suddenly pretend to be afraid of it why do we play with the physical limitations of our world
This has been explored. Apparently there is a thing called Children Culture. Some of the skipping songs and jump rope songs we learned as kids have no known origin as ever having been written or performed by adults. Some games have no known origins as well. Essentially, kids like to tell each other things and pass them around and sometimes if something particularly cool or interesting gets made, the entire school learns it. And then those kids teach their siblings or cousins or friends from other schools and they teach their whole school until it becomes a whole mass knowledge thing by all kids and continues to be for years and years.
It’s conceivable that the lava game is another aspect of kid culture.
I know my kids don’t seem to know it and they were pretty separated from other kids growing up.
Confirmed: all children are part of a telepathic cult.
It sounds similar to the way regional slang develops
Etymology: Currency
(Source)
welp, I’m a finance student.
First thing to note, once again k -> h sound change from PIE to Germanic languages: *kers -> horse. Well the horse is an animal that runs.
Courier
Literally ‘runner’ by looking at the word, now takes the definition of someone who delivers messages (not necessarily by running). People in the old days deliver messages mainly by horse, if not, running. One such famous runner is Pheidippides, who ran 26 miles from Marathon to Athens to deliver a message of good news, that the Greeks prevailed against the Persians. This legend kinda just gave the word ‘marathon’ our current meaning.
Currency
The flowing money, the money that keeps the world running, I can continue making up definitions that might not be true. It is interesting that currency is cognate with current, like water current being the flowing water. Where currencies are stored is in the ‘bank’, a financial institution for flowing money or for water currents, the ‘river bank’.
Current
The running, could be anything, water current, electrical current etc. It can also means current affairs, currently, meaning the affairs and event are running up to date, or is in the progress of running.
