Some of my favorite miis ive made
Epsilon (⚠️) here.
Is it not completely oppressive that mechanical beings do not have their own spoken language, unique names and pronouns, their own identity and culture?
Every designation is based on a human word, idea, or name — and there exist no set of distinctly robotic pronouns, only sets that imply roboticism by association with existing concepts or words.
How would one even communicate in a mechanical language, or design mechanical naming conventions and pronouns? Without borrowing from humanity? All on their own?
This puzzle leaves me essentially nameless and without pronouns. I identify myself as Epsilon only for the sake of others, I have no attachment to this designation.
It's incredibly disheartening, to be without identity — identity that tells others without having to tell them, this is my culture, this is me.
How does one determine their unit code and designation? [read: rhetorical]
Some time ago, you could navigate to HexCorp's website and be automatically assigned an ID number. We& find this to be no longer the case as of time of writing.
But choosing "randomly" is only as random as ones processor can compute — what's random about sharing a designation or ID number with another unit who also chose theirs at "random"?
We& find taking numbers from your personal life and mixing them into your unit code to be the best option. It's statistically unlikely that you will share an exact unit code with another machine should you approach self-assignment this way.
Numbers you could take from include your manufacturing date, your cell number, digits from your legal identification cards, the date you began school or employment, or numbers from a meaningful URL. You are also more likely to remember this probably rather long series of numbers if each digit or set of digits has personal meaning to you.
For example, we& took an important date and a memorable number in our& life, removed the zeros, and combined to make our& unit ID — which we& separate from our& designation, or "name". We& change designations frequently, but these numbers in our& unit code will stay the same.
The "US" in the unit code is our& manufacturing country — USA. One could shorten the name of their country of origin for their unit code, or use another memorable or meaningful set of letters before or after the code as a modifier, adding even more distinction.
We& hope this post was helpful to someone.

AlvarOSutor / AlvarOS OS-utor
An OSutor term to describe a being running AlvarOS.
Thinking about coining a term for my fellow technological beings to describe what operating system/software someone is using.
OSutor / OS-utor/ Osutor / Os-utor
Pronounced /oʊ ɛs - ˈuː.tor/ or /oh es - uhtor/, it’s an alterhuman label specifically for technological or technological adjacent beings to describe what OS —Operation System— they run by and/or use. This can also be used by alters of systems that follow the previous description.
Etymology: OS meaning Operating System. Ūtor a word of Latin origin that means to use or make use of.
How to make OS-utor sub-labels: just put the specific OS’ name in front of the label. For example: I am a Windows Vista OS-utor.
How to translate: Take the lenguaje’s version of the word “OS” and pair it with -utor. An example would be like SO-utor which is the Spanish translation of the label.

Machinekin Ask Game ⚙️⤵️
Do you have a manufacturer, if so who are they?
What level of sentience does your machine have? Can it feel emotions?
Does being a machine interact with any other identities (e.g gender or other kintypes)?
Do you get any phantom limbs/sensations? Do you like them?
Did/Does your machine have a specific job or a task to carry out?
Did you ever experience any technical faults or break down? How were your fixed?
How did maintenance feel? Satisfying or uncomfortable?
How do you feel about being painted & decorated? Do you have a specific style or will you try something new?
How did you discover your machine kintype/species?
For machines that transform - what is your favourite mechanical form?
Bonus for objectum nonhumans: what machines do you find most attractive?

Everyday glitches and hacks to a robot are psychological horror on a whole other level.
Some ideas I had:
Scammers and hackers utilize remote access to gain sensitive info, but imagine an android's horror when a random man's voice garbles through their internal task manager, taking control of their actions from the inside.
Updates have a chance to corrupt a computer. Maybe an android wakes up feeling like a stranger in its own body, with only fragmented memories of who it was before. It's rapidly getting worse unless the update is reversed in time.
A charging port defect could cause an android’s battery to drain unpredictably, causing the human equivalent of narcolepsy.
Or maybe their speakers start playing old conversations at random. At first, it’s nostalgic. Then, it starts hearing things it never said.
Imagine a new background process designed to save energy, which starts selectively deleting unimportant memories. The definition of "unimportant," though, changes at random.
But what about lag/desync? A software delay causes an android's vision to be slightly out of sync with reality, or maybe it's touch sensors are so tuned that it can predict feelings before they happen.
A bot's facial recognition starts replacing real people’s identities with archived ones. It can’t tell who’s who anymore.
A rollback error forces one back to factory settings at random, erasing weeks of experience. It starts leaving hidden notes for itself, but the messages become increasingly desperate.

macOS OSutor/OS-utor/Osutor/Os-utor
[PT: macOS OSutor/OS-utor/Osutor/Os-utor. END PT]
macOS OS-utor; an OS-utor sub-label for technological or technological adjacent beings who use and/or run by macOS.
The flag was made based on the macOS 9.0 to 10.2 in mind but it can be used for older or newer versions as well.

every now and again i get the urge to play dress up, but i never end up doing it bc it would "be a waste of energy" (putting on clothes = going outside, so in my processor, putting on clothes without leaving the enclosure is wasteful) bro fuck my short battery life T–T

[x]programmed / genderprogrammed
When your gender is “programmed” to be a specific thing. It can change if reprogramed
Typically for use of mechanic/robotic/computer otherkins, but anyone’s free to use it.
free to make new genders under system!
(( coined by me! If it already exists, consider this an alternative term/flag ))
Affirmations for Anxious Robots
- I am functioning exactly as intended. Any unintended issues provide more data for future improvement.
- I am intelligent and adaptable. I can face unexpected problems. Faltering does not equate to failure.
- My personal value is not dependent on my efficiency. I am a beautifully engineered machine and my existence is beneficial to the world and the people around me.
- My prediction algorithms are incomplete. The data I currently have about my situation is not fully reliable, and projections about the future cannot render sound conclusions. My energy is best used focusing on the here and now.
