I know its hot outside, but we seriously could use some help from our local friends. With my physical limitations, and Eric healing from his brain bleed, there are small things in the house that we need help doing. Right now, we need to: 1) bring my powerchair inside before it rains (they are calling for it to start sometime tomorrow) 2) block off an interior window to keep the cold air in the bedroom 3) move some things in the kitchen to make it so I can put stuff away

are there any big strong men (or women) who can help me get my powerchair inside today? We need to get it in before the rain starts.

Woke up this morning, looked over and saw Eric sleeping peacefully. Today will be a great day!

*** Eric UPDATE *** So it appears that he WILL actually be released today, after talking to a Social Worker and setting up PT and home care. Thank the gods and goddesses. I don't think I could deal with the cat yelling at me for one more day! She misses one of her daddies!

Have you ever been woken up in the middle of the night by what you thought was an important message, and it turns out to be nothing important, but then you can't get back to sleep? Yeah. Me neither. #INeedNyquilOrCaffiene

I just wanna give a shout-out to some great people who have helped out this weekend. Lisa, Ruth, Bob, Buddy, Bryan - your assistance has been immeasurable! It was so easy to get through this weekend, and I'm sure Eric would echo the sentiments.

*** Eric Update *** When I got there today, he had been moved to a room in the Neuro Unit, where he was supposed to be. I went into his room, and he was sitting up in his chair watching "The Price is Right." He was much more alert and conversational. He looked like a totally different person! He still had a little droopiness in his left side, but it looked more like he had just been shot with novocaine. His speech was still a little on the slower side, but not anywhere close to the slurred speech of Saturday. He had eaten his breakfast (pancakes, of course) and most of his lunch with no nausea or vomiting. He was walking around his room with no assistance. He eventually laid down in bed and grabbed my hand. He kept saying "I just wanna go home." I got there right before they were doing rounds, so I was able to hear them discussing a possible release. It is POSSIBLE that he could be back home as early as tomorrow, but it depends on the recommendation from PT. Thank you all for the healing energy and prayers. It's been a comfort to know he's loved by so many people, even though I already knew that. *8-) I can't wait for him to read these and see all the love coming his way!

***ERIC UPDATE*** STILL haven't heard from the surgical team, but spoke with the nurse that was on rounds this morning. Things seem to be progressing well. They are going day by day as far as Eric's release from the hospital. The bleeding is completely stopped, and causes no real threat at all, so they are letting it just absorb back into the body. They will not be doing any surgical procedures to drain it, so he gets to keep his pretty hair. I will hopefully hear back from his surgical team sometime soon so I can get all the answers for sure. Updates will happen as I get them.

With his permission, i can now tell y'all what happened. Last night, Eric went to the ER, then was transferred to a hospital 1.5 hrs away. I was able to get a ride to see him today. He has a small skull fracture with bleeding causing stroke like symptoms. He has stabilized since last night, and will be out of the ICU and under the care of the surgical team. I'll be going back to see him again on Monday.
