See, I love "God thy will be done, take your only son" cause Jesus really does believes he's God's son and wouldn't it fucking suck for your parent to tell you that you shall die for the betterment of the world? After years of spreading their teachings? Not only that but then to learn from them that two of your followers, who you no doubt care deeply for, will deny and betray you. Jesus isn't detached from God in Gethsemane, in fact it's quite the opposite. He just desperately wants to know why His plan is what it is.
