Basically, it says that Pilate is now the CEO of Empire Enterprises' music division and that Jesus signed a deal with it's subsidiary Galilee Records. It goes as far as to include Herod as a label spokesman for said subsidiary. The details to explain the throughline makes me so giddy I love when productions do this. It gets lost every now and then cause the show wasn't written with the throughline in mind, but I don't think it takes away too much.

Shout for this being the first time I've seen a female Judas and male Jesus. I'm used to either both males or both females so this was a nice change of pace. It definitely changes the dynamic between them, considering this production makes it crystal clear that Judas is in love with Jesus. She kisses him on the lips and when she sings in "Could we start again please?", her verse is about how she loved him.

Oh yeah Jesus and Judas get their own verse in CWSAP, which caught me so off guard. Jesus' is about how he wishes things didn't happen the way it did. Speaking of this Jesus, I kinda wish he had more energy but I'll cut him some slack cause he was sorta forced into the role. Watching it with the info in mind kinda makes it funny.

I think the weirdest and most interesting thing about this production is the crucifixion. Scratch that it is the weirdest and most interesting thing. You see, it's not exactly your normal crucifixion. You'd expect a cross but there's barely been any cross imagery in the show. Instead they have Jesus block a shot meant for Pilate as they're walking somewhere.
