genuinely the number 1 thing you can do to improve your writing is to learn grammar. even really basic stuff IMMEDIATELY makes a huge difference. read books and pay attention to how sentences work, look up punctuation rules, imitate what you see. instant upgrade.
it fucking sucks being a disabled person who can't work and having to see these fuckass posts where someone's like "ahaha jobless people have no life and that's why everyone shitty online has No Job" and everyone and their mother reblogs it joyfully onto my dash for me to see. yes unemployed and unemployable people are truly without exception dogshit people with no hobbies and no redeeming qualities. you're so right. anyway if you'll excuse me i have to start my shift at the I'll Never Be Employed Because Of Permanent Disability And I Love Knowing How You Really See Me store
if ur able to work can u reblog this i am seriously SO sick of it.
btw this isn't solely a disability rights issue or an issue about people who are entirely unable to work. you should also be thinking about the people who are regarded as unhireable. transfems are hugely discriminated against in this way, people of color are passed over for less qualified white people, anyone who has any difficulty playing the interview game is less hireable... frankly anyone who made the mistake of pursuing the things they love and now has a degree for a niche field. if you still joke about Jobless People it's because you've fundamentally connected the worth of people to their labor, and specific labor, work that you see as valuable. and while i'm at it stop making fun of people who still live with their parents. asshole.
Now that I’m think about it again I’m not sure which is more funny; Celine and Rumi thinking most of her ‘weirdness’ is from being a demon or Celine being autistic herself and thought Rumi was a perfectly normal kid.
Celine; Rumi is playing with her teddy bears by organizing them. I always wanted more things to organize when I was her age, I think I have some buttons that would be perfect.
Or
Rumi; It’s not weird to have violent reactions to textures, like I do. Celine once set an outfit on fire because they didn’t listen to her about which texture to use.
They’re like that family where the dad collects trains and insists that autism isn’t real or else he’d be autistic
I had fun in the last day of my queer lit class introducing people to both polytrix(which no one had heard about. somehow) and the Hunting Dog AU by @masked-goat. I love college.
I'm sitting in shock.

zoemira thinking rumi is homophobic pre-debut because every time they ask if she likes girls she gives them such a volatile “omg ew NO haha” that there’s literally no other explanation for it. so for years they shove as much wlw content at her as possible (TV shows, movies, books, games, stories from their actual lives, forcing her to meet real life gay people) to subtly turn her to the good side. and as time goes on she grows less and less tense and awkward around the topic and they think it’s working!!! until one day she eyeliners the bi flag onto her face and they go “rumi are you bi??” and she says “what NO ew absolutely not” which crushes them all over again because 1) yeah she’s still homophobic and 2) now she’s QUEERBAITING and it’s THEIR FAULT for making her watch gls every night before bed
meanwhile rumi has a raging crush on both of them and consuming nonstop yuri is only fueling her fire more, but she absolutely cannot let them ask her out before her patterns are gone because that means she’ll have to reject them. she’s also fully aware they like her back, so she has to straightbait to get them off her trail. and she thinks she’s being SO smooth about it. she genuinely believes she’s dodging around the topic so well and that the girls just think she’s straight and nothing else. so eventually the day comes post-movie where she finally works up the courage to confess her undying love for them and both of them are GOBSMACKED. jaws hanging, dead silence kind of shock. and rumi says “oh no im sorry did i read our dynamic wrong” and they say “NO??? we thought you were homophobic!!!!” and their “days without miscommunication” count goes back down to 0 after a very chaotic and confusing conversation
Iconic lines for the history books.

A Dark Souls-like game where the lore for a weapon gets less vague the more you upgrade it. Broken Blade: A brittle sword. You can’t seem to let it go. Unpolished Blade: A cherished weapon from ages past. Polished Blade: You remember something. Bride’s Blade: Your wife’s sword.
at first i wanted to make this funny but it just made me sad

Do not punish the behaviour you want to see
I mean, it seems pretty obvious when you put it like that, right?
But how many families, when an introvert sibling or child makes an effort to socialize, snarkily say, “So, you’ve decided to join us”?
Or when someone does something they’ve had trouble doing, say, “Why can’t you do that all the time?” (Happened to me, too often.)
Or any sentence containing the word “finally”.
If someone makes a step, a small step, in a direction you want to encourage, encourage it. Don’t complain about how it’s not enough. Don’t bring up previous stuff. Encourage it.
Because I swear to fucking god there is nothing more soul-killing, more motivation-crushing, than struggling to succeed and finding out that success and failure are both punished.
Encouragement and acknowledgment are so much more effective than punishment.
One of the moments that I think about a lot when I think about how much I love my Dad, is that once when I was a teenager prone to spending long hours alone in my room I emerged to spend time with the family, he joked “Oh look, it’s the lodger!”
And before I’d even processed what he meant (that I was behaving more like a tenant than a family member), he went on some kind of internal flashback journey, and said “My father used to say that to me and I hated it, I don’t know why I said it to you,” and he apologised, and never made a joke like that again.
It’s like he did a speedrun on overcoming generational trauma.
"Few people find power grids attractive. I certainly don't. Norwegians are pro-electricity but against power lines. That won't work in the long run. Norway has trolls, so more power lines are needed. That's just the way it is."
