“I don’t think we’ll be that long now,” Red contemplated as her hand moved into her basket and began to push aside the things she had placed into it when they were on their walk. The forest was full of many things that could be eaten. And… well, many things that would most likely end up with poisoning, or, at a lesser level a sore stomach. “I nearly have everything Granny sent me for.” That, and she wanted to get back to the cottage because she was getting hungry. Red ate at lunch when Granny had made those pies for the Inn, but even lunch seemed like a lifetime ago. It may have been because the time just flew by when she had gone for the walk with the Huntsman. Turning to look at him, she smiled. “—- I just need some apples now.” She looked around for an apple tree, eyebrows raised as she studied her surroundings for it. Whenever Red wanted something she found it. She was a very good tracker - wolf senses or not. Granny had made sure that Red knew how to take care of herself when she left the cottage. Even if Red always complained about never being let out of the cottage. Most of the time her ‘escaping’ the cottage was when she would go and spend time with Peter. Lowering her shoulders it seemed she wasn’t in luck. No apple trees from what she could see. But, she didn’t have a bird eye’s view, so maybe they would have to venture further out to find one. “Are you hungry now?” She questioned the Huntsman, trying to avoid her stomach growling at the mere thought of food.
As they walked the Huntsman's hand was always touching Faolan in someway. Either he was touching the wolf's fur, his head, or even just an ear. It didn't exactly matter as long as the two of them were touching in some way. Whenever the two of them had been separated for a long period of time Faolan usually liked being as close to him as possible. He believed it was a reassurance thing for the wolf but he wasn't certain. The hunter didn't mind though. Most of the time he only acted like this while they were walking and not on the hunt.
Hearing that Red was looking for an apple tree, he began to look around to see if he could spot one. He was certain there was around here. Faolan, who had seemed to be paying attention too, moved away from the Huntsman and began to trot in a slightly different direction. His tail was raised a little and the hunter knew that meant he wished to be followed. Tugging gently on Red's cloak he jerked his head in Faolan's direction and began to follow the wolf. His blue eyes glanced over at her when she asked if he was hungry. "A little," he said as he stopped and held a branch out of the way for Red. "I'll be fine till we get back." He was used to not eating for a long period of time. He normally got regular meals when he served Regina but before that he sometimes went days without eating. He sort of gotten back into that habit but he wasn't about to tell Red that. Knowing her, she was just get mad and scold him for not coming to the inn to eat.
