It was going to be a cold one this year. The fronts were rolling down off of the Icicle Inn region and were hitting Midgar and Edge with below-freezing temperatures. Business had started to decline with patrons opting to stay in the safety of their own homes until the lure of Tifa’s newly crafted holiday drinks brought them back. The people of the region weren’t used to this type of weather.
She tucked the scarf around Denzel’s until you could barely see the boy’s mouth. “Is all of this really necessary, Tifa?” His words were muffled through the thick layer but his adopted mother still understood.
“Yes, sir. It’s very cold outside and we don’t want to take any chances.” He pouted underneath his scarf and glanced over at Marlene. The younger girl had on a sweater but clutched her jacket as she awaited Tifa’s assistance in putting them on.
“Are you gonna get all bundled up too, Tifa?” Marlene asked as she glanced around the room at Tifa’s lone sweater and scarf.
“Well, I’ll be putting on some layers, but the cold doesn’t bother me as much. It snowed pretty heavily during the wintertime when I was a little girl. I think my body just got used to it.” Tifa replied, finishing up with Denzel.
“You and Cloud grew up together, right? Were there Christmas events when you were a kid? Did it snow?”
