A green crystal discovered in a series of caves called schism Crystal's were discovered to be highly addictive drugs, and soon threw the economy into a turmoil, as the rich and powerful were soon addicted and trying to keep it from the lower class.
That was when the unsainted ones became well known and prominent, the only ones who could provide schism crystals, and no one can seem to track down the leaders of the gang providing people with the addictive chemicals
Luke quickly rose within the ranks, until one day he was ambushed by his own gang; the only family he ever knew. Aegis was going downhill, supply of schism Crystal's had dwindled and they hadnt been able to make contact with colonies out there that had any to trade.
Despite his desire never to go back, he took the nickname unsainted so he would never forget where he came from, and will happily tell people that it's from his home world, but doesnt go into details of what he did to survive or how he got his enhanced abilities.
