THE ALL—SEEING SUN!*

            forgiven.  that  simple  response  makes  a  gleeful  smile  widely  grace  boyish  features,  he’s  glad  even  if  they’re  only  playing.  “i  won’t  drop  you.  no  way!  i’ll  make  sure  you’re  safe  like  my  life  depends  on  it.”  chuckling,  and  it  kind  of  does.  he  trips  and  falls  over  things  a  lot  so  that’s  why  he  has  to  make  extra  sure  his  limbs  don’t  fail  him  this  time.  he  would  never  want  to  drop  such  a  nice  girl.  or  any  girl,  even  if  they  were  mean  to  him.  the  blond  gives  her  time  to  put  her  shoes  on,  patiently  waiting  for  whenever  she’s  ready.  “we’ll  see.  maybe…  i  will  let  you  pay  me  in  desserts.”  amusingly  speaking,  that’s  one  form  of  payment  he  can  accept.  of  course,  as  long  as  those  desserts  are  just  a  fifty  cent  cookie  from  the  gas  station.

he  is  having  too  much  fun  already.  he’s  like  a  puppy  in  that  way,  give  him  any  positive  attention  and  he’s  more  than  happy.  give  him  an  inch  and  he’ll  take  a  mile.  in  this  case  romeo  is  ignoring  her  kind  declines,  because  it’ll  be  fun!  she’ll  see.  “oh,  yeah!”  that  is  right,  not  everyone  has  long  legs  made  for  running  like  he  does.  he  stops,  nearly  tumbles  over  his  own  legs  but  he  manages  to  halt  in  one  piece.  AND  keeps  a  hold  on  his  bag  of  candy  this  time.  “forgive  me.  i  didn’t  even  consider  it.”  he  comes  clumsily  walking  back  into  her  direction  with  an  amused  smile,  “i  got  it!  since  i’m  going  to  win  the  race  anyway–  i’ll  just  make  this  a  type  of  public  transit.  here,  you  can  ride  on  my  back  and  you  can  see  what  it’s  like to  run  so  fast.”  laughing  as  he  playfully  teases  her,  romeo  turns  and  crouches  down  on  his  knees.  “and  it’s  free.  no  charge  at  all  to  visit  the  flowers.”

            “wait,  no.  that’s  not  what  i  meant  either.”   heavy  fret  in  his  voice,   romeo  means  he  was  staring  and  admiring  her  but  he  wasn’t  planning  on  getting  caught.  the  problem  being  how  he  can’t  just say  that.   he  observes  the  way  she’s  laughing,  she  doesn’t  actually  seem  offended  and  a  big  wave  of  relief  washes  over  him.  he  finally  manages  to  smile  even,  her  laughter  is  sweet.  “i’ll  pick  them,  then.  and  you  can  come  with  me.”  he  decides,  picking  up  another  candy  he  realizes  he  left  before  turning  and  beginning  to  lead  the  way  to  a  spot  he  has  in  mind.  somewhere  he  can  freely  pick  flowers  without  a grouchy  elder  lady  slapping  him  on  the  hand  for  accidentally  picking  her  daisies  like  what  happened  one  time  before.  “i’m  glad  you’re  not  like  the  other  girls.  most  just  act  stuck  up.”  one  reason  why  he  was  intimidated.  “so  then.  come  with  me,  my  fair  lady!  i’ll  pick  you  the  loveliest  flowers  FOR  being  so  lovely  to  me.”  a  surge  of  energy  fueled  by  happiness  hits  him  at  once,  has  him  excitedly  grinning  and  beginning  to  run  through  the  park.  trying  to  see  if  she’ll  keep  up!

                 blue  gaze  moves  back  on  her  as  hand  drops,  eyes  widening,  “i  don’t  want  your  attention.  i  was…”  he’s terrible  at  lying,  kind  eyesespeciallycan’t  lie.  but  he can  fret  and  make  himself  look  foolish because  of  her.  because  she’s  so  pretty–  and  composed,  romeo  feels  inadequate.  “is  greeting  all  it  takes?”  to speak  to  such  an  amazing  girl?  “what  kind  of  greeting,  then?”  hello.  hello  would  work.  but  he’s  gotten so  torn  up  he  forgets  the  simplest  most  commonly  of  all  forms.  “should  i  bring  flowers  first–  i  can  pick  them.  or  i’m  a  great  store  bought  bouquet  buyer!”

                 flinching,  his  entire  body  jolts  and  HEART  jumps  out  of  chest.  didn’t  mean  to  get  caught.   dropping  his  bag  of  candies,  arms  flailing  to  pick  them  up  before QUICKLY  standing  back  up  straight.  “not  long.”  romeo  fibs,  staring  at  her  before  glancing  away  once  he  realizes  he  is.  free  hand  reaching  back,  nervously  rubbing  at  his  neck  over  the  chain  on  his  cross  necklace  hanging  from  his  neck.  cheeks daring  to  heat  up.
