Unrepentant Fatty

Because tumblr isn’t a book of mine. It’s, at its best, a community, which includes a number of things, and sexuality is one of the things it includes.

I’ve got about 400,000 people following me here, and I’ve never stopped to investigate what any of them are or what they like. But sometimes I’ll click on the tumblr of someone who’s asked a good question or reblogged with an interesting comment, and found myself in very NSFW places. So assuming that people who like pop culture cannot also like nakedness, sex, or figuring out their sexuality in a safe space, would seem to me like a misguided assumption.

There was a young couple sitting at the table next to mine. He was a dorky looking dude in a collar shirt and a cardigan and she had tats all over, a cute sweater and glasses. 

I didn’t pay much attention to them until the bill came to their table. She nonchalantly picked it up, looked it over, took her wallet from her purse, settled up at the register and came back to collect her boy. The best part is they walked past a window where she grabbed him by the scruff of his neck, pulled him down to her and kissed him.

“Old Joke— Fish: How about all this water! 

Second Fish: What’s water? 

 —That’s why some women don’t recognize misogyny in America. Because we grow up swimming in it.”
