I dreamed up this cartoon this morning. Before AI, that would have been that, because I have no drawing skills. But here it is, probably preserved for centuries at least, and shared by a delighted public of maybe four or five people.

Today I was on Facebook using Firefox when popups appeared, purportedly from Microsoft telling me I had been hacked and to log in and ring an 0808 number. I pressed CTRL ALT DELETE and "Task Manager" to end Firefox. Used Edge to check no other problems. Restarted. All OK. Be careful out there.

Takeover by artificial superintelligence might not go as planned. When humans domesticated animals, they mostly went for the less dangerous of each species. People with an insatiable hunger for power, some of whom want to merge with ASI, might be regarded as dangerous or annoying. Perhaps Jesus was right when he said, "The meek shall inherit the Earth".

This is something worth thinking about.
