Hey everyone! The ToC is coming up and sadly neither of us are going.  However, we don’t want to let that stop unofficialwsc from running. This is why we’re opening up an admin role to you guys.

Requirements

You must be participating in this year’s ToC

You should already have a Tumblr account so that you’re familiar with the system

Must be comfortable with giving us your Facebook (preferred) or other instant messaging platform, for easier communication

~passion~ and ~enthusiasm~ for WSC

Willingness to create materials and content, and to post them

What the role involves

Daily reports during the ToC! There’s no set formats.

Answering questions about the days.

Submit to us an application including:

Why you want to be an admin

A couple ideas you have for unofficialwsc. What can we do for the World Scholars community?

Your preferred way of contact

Temporary or permanent? (Do you want to be an admin just for the ToC, or carry on afterwards as well?)

Deadline for applications is 9:00am EST on Thursday 12th November (2:00pm UTC on Nov 12th). We’ll let you know who the new admin is soon after that. If you have any questions, send us an ask and we’ll get back to you ASAP.

Hello! We’re unofficial in that we have no “inside sources” or anything from the WSC staff. Although the WSC team knows we exist, we don’t work with them. We have access to the same information that any other scholar does.

The topics we post are real and have been posted by Daniel on the Facebook group. We’re just collecting them in one place so that [1] people without Facebook (such as scholars in China or not in the group) can access the topic previews and [2] it’s easier for everyone to access everything that’s been posted so far.

We’d like to take this time to say a short thank you to the guy who created the WSC program which means so much to us. We could go on, but no words could properly express gratitude for organising not only the logistics behind the competition, but that joy and atmosphere World Scholar’s has, for thousands of inspired young people.

We’d also like to thank you (and the rest of the WSC team) for being so kind and encouraging about this very blog. From the inclusion of unofficialwsc in the Scavenge to your appreciative words during the Bowl, it’s been a privilege to run this site with such recognition. 

Wow!! We knew about being mentioned in the Scavenge, and the WSC team brought it up during the Seniors’ Bowl, but we didn’t know it was in the challenge too! Could you tell us anything you remember about the question?
