Breath is just another word for Spirit. In Latin spirare means breathing and is even synonymous for living. In eastern cultures exists a great awareness about how conscious breathing connects one with spirit, with his true self.
Seen from this perspective, we understand why inspiration comes in meditative, relaxed states: as we connect to spirit through deep breathing we are linked into a higher consciousness: brilliant ideas how to solve immanent problems suddenly strike us.
So let yourself inspire this week to breathe consciously whenever possible. As soon as you notice stress, anxiety, anger, sadness: slow down and breathe deep and consciously into the depth of your belly (your hara, energy-center). With your breath these emotions don´t remain stuck, but are allowed to be moved out of your body with every exhale. And that is exactly what emotions are supposed to do: e, ex is the latin word for out, and motion is motion – so let the emotion move, don´t keep it inside you.
While you inhale, visualize you are inhaling pure happiness. Inhale deeply, feel your body expand.
While exhaling visualize how tightness, sorrow, fears are leaving your body. Â What remains is your true self, the center of your power.
