SHE KNOWS he’s probably being rude ; but a compliment is a compliment, regardless of how the speaker means it.

When he was 15, he kidnapped her from her parents. And then after that he basically raised her and brainwashed her into leaving her identity behind.  When she’s 14, and he’s 24, he fucking romantically pursues her and basically guilt trips her into being him with him. He forces her into things she’s no comfortable with but because at the time he was all she had ever known (she met very few people outside of him and very few ever expressed interest in her), she just goes along with it. And then when she’s 18 and he’s 28, he begs her to let him make her cybernetic. And she tells him to fuck off and he violates her wishes and does it anyways. And then she kills him and???

       She tries to keep a PROFESSIONAL front,       hands clasped atop the table and        back stiff.   But the sight of the young girl strikes a chord within her, which should        remain unstruck in such a SITUATION.  The jeweler swore the girl had broke in        and gotten away with expensive necklaces, which were missing from the scene.

       The girl’s words of PATHOS was the kind of stuff     Iris had learned in the Police        Academy. An attempt at some form of sympathy, to invoke emotion within you so        that you were SWAYED. Iris knew better,                  but couldn’t help be swayed        regardless.     She was a young child, after all — they didn’t have her on record,        therefore she was a first time offender.    ( Or good at getting away. )    It couldn’t        hurt to believe her INNOCENT for the moment.

SHE PAUSES gives a minute to breathe deeply through her nose. oh the IRONY. she’s a cybernetic time travelling bandit, with a 30 billion credit bounty on her head, wanted by the time police as well as the intergalactic peacekeepers. and she got caught by goddamn earth police. for a crime she didn’t even commit.

THIS SHIT WAS SO UNCOOL. 

“ NAH, i've been hitting up old friends. adira and her husband adolph. i came down here cause i needed to get some cash from the bank. and then when i turned around the cops said i was under arrest -- i didn’t do anything! ”

FUNNY THING ABOUT BEING A HACKER was that she could keep the bank from noticing they’d been robbed until she was clear into the future. and then that sweet money would be turned into credits and she could finally get some of the refugees on her ship to find homes and places to live.

“ SOO..... YOU CAN KEEP ME OUTTA JAIL? ”

THE QUESTION POSED is not one she usually asks. what can she say? she gets paid to steal, gets paid to kill, gets paid for all the nasty little things. but THIS? this whole ACCUSATION that she had robbed a jewel store was rubbish.
