Bells and Whistles | Andromeda & Lyra
"Unit Andromeda," she greeted the other AI with judgment, looking her up and down, starting from the crown of her head to the tips of her toes. Lyra struggled to pull the AI’s file from the depths of her mind, not as much as she struggled to pull human files, but more than she did for Delta files. Manipulation and Ingenuity. Manipulation was a nasty trait, Lyra had barely exchanged words with the blond and yet she already felt the sting of distrust.
Her eyebrows slanted upwards slightly, creative? Unlikely, Lyra was stoic and reliable, no changing and creative. Such a trait was not under Lyra’s domain, perhaps Pegasus’ or Sage’s or even Andromeda’s, but not Lyra’s. “No,” she stated bluntly, “I witnessed it in a video and replicated it.” She pointed to the tablet laying prone on the floor. In fact she’d made as exact a replication as she could of the obstacle course found in the video. Keyword used: stealth training.
Did Lyra want to share her homemade toy with the other girl? Not with someone who possessed ‘manipulation’ on their file. Yet still, Lyra was curious as to how the other unit would fair among the strings and bells. Pointing at the web she stated just as bluntly, “I’m not looking for anyone to train with, but you may try it out if you’d like.”
Andromeda expected units and agents alike to have some kind of suspicion towards her, and Lyra, most of all, was no exception. "Hm." The blonde spoke, her eyes studying the unit's change of face. "Perhaps this can be seen as a kind of training device to work on your creative prowess, then - amongst other things, of course. After all, this does require you to be as delicate as possible in order to achieve success. Surely, it wouldn't hurt to learn, or even create, as many ways as possible to attain that."
The web, much like its creator, had so much potential for change for the better. However, Lyra's mind seemed to be a resolute one. Unlike the string, there was a sense of inflexibility about her, though even the most initially unyielding minds had their movements of vulnerability. Andromeda could not help but wonder how exactly to find that point of weakness and exploit it in her own favor. The girl couldn't help it, really - it was simply in her nature.
"Oh, I'd much rather observe you, if you don't mind." Her tone reserved its sweetness, and she did mean her words without agenda. "I certainly wouldn't want to pass up the opportunity to see the master at her craft. Though, perhaps after that, I'll give it a go."
