We made something! This was our first attempt at making a video of our music and we learned a lot -- including to make sure you know the in's and out's (literally) of your recording equipment ahead of time to avoid frantically perusing reddit forums and texting your friend in Australia for help minutes before the filming was supposed to start. Thankfully we all like each other and had a fun time with it, and are excited to be putting in our first Tiny Desk submission. I wrote this song a couple years ago and really love how these guys bring so much feeling to it with their playing. It's called Feel this Way, and like a lot of my songs it's not exactly a nice, feel-good song, but it's real and true. The lyrics are in the video description on youtube, if anyone else is like me and enjoys reading along while listening (and if you want to read more about what this song means to me, check out this post).
Very special thanks to Front Street Community Bike Works for giving us a practice space all these years, and now a filming space. Also to Dan for his stellar film work (and to Micha for supporting -- these guys are some of our oldest fans and we like to refer to them as our sponsors for showing up to almost all of our shows over the years! Check them out at wildcoastbrew.com), to Max's dad for letting me play his guitar, and to Carol and Wendy for sharing their very precious and fragile Italian doll house desk, that somehow nobody stepped on (we had originally planned to use the bike shop workbench as our desk, but turns out it's massive and would have been hard to get in the frame. Not tiny at all). <3
