‪no one talks abt how post abusive relationship you get bored with safety and security in romantic relationships, what’s healthy and deserving kinda feels lacking of passion and uninteresting. the good people you feel like ideally you’d end up with don’t necessarily hold the attention like you feel a partner should, makes sense as to why people who have been in these types of relationships wind up in similar ones after the fact

or also how our gauge for a lot of things is completely out of whack bc you have this intense precedent for things. you can go from a severely abusive relationship to someone else who’s also abusive without really realizing the extent of it bc comparatively it may seem better than the last. with the bar so low anyone who’s even moderately considerate seems like a godsend or like something you should cling to
