<3 game worlds with isometric views ⊟

As someone who grew up adoring games with isometric views like Shadowrun (SNES), X-Com, and various Tactics releases, I love seeing these shots.

The top image is concept art from Stéphane Boutin for Mercenary Kings — the PC/PlayStation 4 game doesn’t play or look like that, but it’s going to be an awesome run’n gun regardless when it releases.

As for the second piece, that’s "Bookkeeper’s Garden" from Chern Fai. While it’s not an actual game, god, I want to play that. I want to manage a magic library and garden, and be that little dude just getting a stack of books and reading them. Actually, I want to play/live in all of these isometric scenes Fai has posted on Tumblr.

I’ve been trying to push myself with pixel art lately, and when I was looking through all my stuff to see what I should work on I realized I didn’t have any scenery, which is weird because I know I’ve done it in the past!

I guess I just got rid of it :/

I’m creating a new game called Bana Butt Brusher where you play as the beloved and timeless character Bana, and you must go around touching all the butts.
