you know how in dark academia the coveted language is latin? like EVERYONE wants to learn latin? i think punk academia should do that with spanish. in america at least, spanish would help so much with organizing and would be so practical. to me at least punk is about practicality, so it would help you with advocating for your own community way more than learning a language only academics speak.

Punk Academia, in my opinion.
Studying either at home with music blasting or at the public library, very quietly.
Possibly drinking a pepsi or something, whatever you got from a vending machine.
Whatcha reading? Books on anarchy, or maybe history, political movements, social studies -- anything that opens your horizons and educates you.
Hell, maybe you're even studying the history of punk rock? Getting familiar with its core philosophies?
Or, you know, you could also be reading a fiction book or a zine.
Taking notes on your notebook with a pencil.
The notebook is filled with poems and lyrics you've created or you've liked from other places.
Written rambling on whatever you read, something that might go up on your blog, or your zine if you have one.
Doodles, designs and stickers all over that notebook and the notebook cover too.
You're dressed however the fuck you want??? As you should??
Your hair is also however you want, casual, mundane, crazy as fuck, who cares.
Finding ways to help your community and those in need, that seems very punk academia.
Discussing what you learned with others.
Educating people who aren't in your scene, too.
Or, hell, talking to yourself about it while you work on a patch.

Things that I think are very Punk Academia:
Being ahead on your studies so that you can watch movies in the back of class on Fridays
Pens. Pens. Pens. PENS.
Having very strong opinions on EVERYTHING
Not bringing a pencil to school and instead only bringing lead refills and using the ones you find in the hall
Annotating political theory with stuff like "Real shit" and "What the fuck"
Sneaking your friends copies of books that they aren't allowed to read
Tons of candy sprawled throughout your bag, gummy bear packets in every corner
Baking treats and bringing them into your class without any further notice
When questioned on this, you simply say "It's my birthday" which doesn't work as well the 6th time you pull it
Writing your initials on EVERYTHING
Whenever you're given a topic, you search for hours to find common misconceptions you can bring up during next days discussion
Buying everything in cash
Listening to non-western classical music
Listening to ALL music
Realizing how bigotry can be baked into seemingly harmless statements
Likewise, calling people out for their shit when they say these things
Buying electronics second hand
Big off-brand headphones that are a size too big
Sewing patches onto your clothes in the middle of class
Unisex fragrances
Conversely, fragrances that are the complete opposite of that expected for your gender
Spiky hair
Seemingly a slacker but having the highest grades of anyone in your class
In many bands, none of which sound like the others
Punk Academia
Dark circles under the eyes
Coffee/energy drinks 24/7
Stress
Doodles
"Yeah, you can copy my notes, no problem. What? You can understand my handwriting? Well, that's a you problem"
Debates on class
Corrects the professor
Slam poetry
Critizes the educational system (with extremely valid points)
