I had decided to expand upon the technoscape project in a new direction but with the same concept in mind. The concept was that the technology today can bring you back to your memories, specifically for me locations. Each of these images are a different location that I have lived in and the numbers are the years that I lived there. I decided to go in a more technology based way of portraying these memories as to which I added the pixilated black over the maps of where I lived, an unintentional thing that came out of this was that the road maps looked more like circuits inside of a computer chip. While searching for sources images of actual neighborhood images instead of road maps, I had encountered a glitch with Google Maps in the way it was zooming in and out of the road maps to an actual image. I liked the image that was produced from this computer glitch and decided to go in that direction, instead of redoing a realistic neighborhood. I used this image to build upon and create this “memory map” , the glitch view that I had adapted from the actually glitch represents the fogginess of remembering and how skewed your memories can actually be. Regarding the memories being skewed and distorted I liked that I had chosen maps because each map looks similar yet they are not and that is how I envisioned my memories for the most part, every neighborhood has the same feel and look. These images go from old to new, which is why I made the newest or fresher memory a more saturated color and the oldest memory desaturated and grainy looking. One thing that I might want to go back and redo is that I left the names of the towns/cities that I had lived in and erased all the other names, but the names of the towns/cities blend too much into the background.
