In the Name of Justice

Vishnal cracked the door open to the Princess’ room, it wasn’t that early in the morning per say, but definitely earlier then the usual time he’d come in to greet the girl. But today was a little bit different none the less, he was in charge of prepping her for later in the evening, and he was going to make sure that he did his duties properly.

“Princess .. ♪?” The young man cooed in a sweet tone, before quickly rising the blinds to the window in her room and letting the bright sunlight flood the room. 

If there was anything she could do, however, was stay positive in times of peril, and she guessed that if anyone had to deal with her in the morning, she was glad that it was Vishnal. Normally he took her moaning and groaning in with stride, and if anything, it was his bright smile that eased her into her regular, go-getter attitude.

Of course, this thought was not enough to actually get her to willingly get out of bed, and just like any other day, Frey responded to his coaxing by pulling the covers over her head and twisting into a ball of discomfort.

Watching as Frey spun around once she had made her way towards her, Clorica let out a light laugh as she clasped her hands together.  “I think you look wonderful, Miss Frey!” Clorica exclaimed.  She was not simply speaking the compliment to be polite, but rather the princess really did look very nice.  “Very cute… ♥”

“… ?” Once Frey explained her plans for the day, Clorica paused to think if she had to do any more work around the castle.  “Um… yes, I think I can spare a little bit of my time!  As long as we’re not out too late. ♪” She did have a few small tasks to still do, but those could wait until later that day.

“Thank you!” She said, laughing again. “It makes me so happy that you think so -- I was a bit worried that this dress wouldn’t fit me very well. But if you really think it looks cute, then who am I to doubt you?”

Frey paused to listen to Clorica answer another one of her questions, this time smiling in response. “Are you sure? I’d hate for you to have to come back to a list of chores that you could’ve finished if not for me. We could always plan a shopping trip for another time!” She tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear as she thought for a bit, before continuing to speak. “But if truly do have the time to accompany me today, I can promise you that we wont be out too late! I was thinking we could maybe shop for clothes? My wardrobe’s looking a little outdated at the moment, and it shouldn’t take too long to remedy that.”

Watching as the princess walked around him, Skye could only roll his eyes, waiting for her to get her fill.  “Goodness, Princess… I know I’m beautiful, but no need to stare.”  He spoke in the same tone he usually used to flirt, but the underlying bitterness was evident.

“Oh come on!  I gave you this stuff back, so-”  Before the man could finish his response, Skye cut himself off once the princess finished her own statement.  Well that was his cue to run.

“Yeah… sorry but that’s not happening!”  He walked towards the window, climbing on the windowsill and preparing himself to jump out.  “This thief’s not quite done with what he started. ♥” 

Unfortunately, she didn’t think of the possibility until it was too late, and while he began to climb out the window all she could do was stare in open-mouthed shock. Of course, this didn’t mean she wasn’t going to chase after him -- only that she’d allowed him to get a head start. She could, without a doubt, close the gap in no time if she ran fast enough.

With this in mind, Frey, like any sensible person would, ran out the front door to ensure that he wouldn’t get away. Looking around wildly, she spotted a mess of silver hair not too far away and began sprinting towards him in a blur of fury.

        ❝Monsters?❞ Amanda tilted her head in confusion. ❝I…I’m not sure. I’d say it depends how hard and how long you fight the monster for. Everything is bound to get damage. However, I don’t think it would withstand as well as other things.❞

Frey let out a long hum of breath as she took in the owner’s answer. The dress was pretty, but if she couldn’t fight in it...

“I see,” she nodded, glancing first at the girl and then back at the garment in her hands. She held the dress up against herself, trying to get a good measure of how well it would fit. Oh, but it was awfully, awfully pretty... Maybe she could wear it on special occasions? And it wasn’t like she had the chance to go clothes shopping very often...

Ahh the bar, the perfect place to kick back, relax, and enjoy the fine music and tasty drinks. Owen had just gotten off work and, as he did every night, made his way to the bar. The thick summer heat still clung to his shirt as he walked into the thankfully air conditioned building. A relieved sigh left his lips as he let the cool air consume him. Grey eyes glanced around the rustic looking room, taking note of how many people were inside. It didn’t take long for him to spy an open seat and with a few hello’s to the regulars he put a hand on the bar stools back.

Today, Frey had landed in Castanet -- courtesy of the green pastures and waves of blue that many a Selphian tourist have enthused over. Arriving just before noon, she spent most of her time so far sightseeing and buying souvenirs for her friends back at home. The sun had now set, however, and while there were no bars where she was from, she knew that the place would be busy in the evening. 

With this in mind, she made her way inside what was called the “Brass Bar,” taking timid steps towards an empty bar stool from across the room. It wasn’t long after she had ordered a light, fruity drink that a low voice had caught her attention, his hand on the bar stool next to her as he asked for permission to sit. The grin on his -- the man with the wild red hair’s -- face seemed to be infectious, for she quickly adopted a smile of her own and nodded.

        The wasn’t letting up today. Despite knowing that it was probably going to be hot, she wore one of her lighter coloured clothing while still matching her wares and stall.

        While unpacking the boxes, Amanda decided that it would be best to have one side designated to her handmade clothing, while the other side to her old clothing. She was excited to show her items, especially her handmade ones. Let’s hope that someone liked them.

        As the people began to enter the festival grounds, Scruffy and Biscuits eagerly wagged their tails as they watched people pass by. They were awfully well-behaved today.

Being that Selphia had only one place to buy clothes, and that one place having a very limited selection of wares, Frey almost wanted to cry out loud in joy. She didn’t, however, and instead used her bountiful energy to look through the seller’s merchandise. She only stopped her search when she came across a plain, but pretty white dress, and holding it up so the owner could see, she called out to get her attention.

“My apologizes, Princess,” the man responded, hardly attempting to mask his annoyance.  “Ask whatever questions you please.  Destroy whatever you please.  Do whatever you want.”  He was bitter.  Bitter that a woman who got whatever she wanted was going through the few possessions that he owned.  Some always got what they wanted in life.

Standing up straight, Skye then walked to the other side of his room, bending down to pick up the bag of things he had stolen from the castle.  “It’s right here.  You think I wouldn’t know where I kept all my stuff?”  Practically shoving the bag in Frey’s face, Skye handed it to her with a bitter glare.  

It seemed like he was at least kind enough to have left her belongings alone. Or rather, it seemed like he had not yet gotten the chance to swap them in for gold. 

Yes, that was a much more probable explanation. 

Flashing him a petulant frown, Frey brushed the dirt off her dress and huffed. “I guess everything’s here...” she said, allowing herself to march towards the thief and circle around him in a display of suspicion. Her brows knit together as she inspected his person, fighting the urge not to punch his pretty little face once more. However, her seriousness melted away for a brief period when he suggested that she get out of his house.

“Me? Leave you alone so you might steal again?” Frey laughed, putting her hands on her hips. “As if! You’re coming with me back to Selphia, where you’ll be tried and- and-” She paused for a moment, trying to think of the right word to use.
