born & raised in la and it honestly shows lmao in an alternate universe she was probs two ucla parties and a ksa admission away from becoming an abg but life had other plans for her

former ice skater & olympic hopeful until her dad was diagnosed w/ cancer during the end of her sophomore yr & it basically upended her entire life, causing her to stop her training, take a leave of absence from ucla & fly to seoul to be by his side

things were lowkey looking up for him so she decided to transfer to kyunghee to continue her education & still be here just in case anything happened

unfortunately he passed away and that sent sydney spiraling, leading to her drink/party hard during her junior yr to numb the pain 

the only thing that kept her together & prevented her from dropping out was the fact that she would disappoint her mom & sydney would rather die than ever do that so she (kinda?) got her shit together for her senior yr

now that she graduated, she’s just kinda lost and doesn’t know what she wants in life/who she is since everything she’s ever wanted has fallen apart & she can’t exactly be an olympian at her big age anymore so ??? 

personality wise she’s lowkey a mess but a well-intentioned one! v much a work hard, play hard type of girl & has a tendency to be semi self-destructive as self-punishment thanks to her impulsive nature and habit of being reckless with her own life/health/safety but overall she’s a sweet girl whose socal friendliness is always jumping out
