Person/People in the sylki tag, “Ugh, they labeled Loki bi and genderfliud and then put him with a woman. What did you expect from Marvel? Did you really think they were going to do anything with the fact that he was bi?”
Someone “Ummmm…that’s bi-phobic.”
Person/People “Oh um actually, that’s not what I meant by my post at all. I clearly was just trying to say how problematic it was that they….*checks notes probably* put him in a relationship with himself.”
Me:
Not only is this rhetoric biphobic ( https://www.glaad.org/blog/5-quick-biweek-tips-not-being-biphobic ), but also Loki is still genderfluid and Sylki is therefore a f/f and m/f ship. Along with the bi-erasure, genderfluid erasure is a thing too! Disney won’t allow that to be shown on D+ and that’s why Lady Loki and Sylvie Lushton had to be combined into one character. It meant Disney could avoid having to show a character transitioning and risk losing subs. The same story and romance would have worked just as well as f/f. But face it, we all like Tom in the role too much to ever let completely go. I support Sylki as a f/f and m/f relationship. Erasure in any form is bad.
