Uppies and diaper pats is the best way to start the day ☺️🥹

DADDY: *looks at watch* “Oh my! It’s time to finish playing, baby! We got to get you and Tigger ready for bed!”

PRINCESS: *gasps & runs up to daddy, forcing a colouring book & crayons in his hands*

DADDY: “Aww, you want to colour in bed, princess”?

PRINCESS: *turns & runs away before running back to Daddy with a picture book*

DADDY: “…AND, you want me to read you a bedtime story as well?”

PRINCESS: *disappears again, and gives Daddy a DVD*

DADDY: “AND, you want us to watch The Little Mermaid?…”

PRINCESS: *runs off & fetches her tea set*

DADDY: “…AND you want us to have a tea party in bed?! Hang on a minute, missy!…”

PRINCESS: *already off, she adds her Lego creation to the pile in Daddy’s hands*

DADDY: “Listen here, Princess. Daddy is super tired… I’m asking you NICELY to get ready for bed.”

PRINCESS: *stops suddenly. She turns slowly - looking Daddy right in the eye*… “Listenz here, Daddy. Princess is super tired… I is asking you NICELY… to tidy up.”

Little rascal.

“baby, let daddy cook. how about you sit here and be good for daddy, can you do that?” 💖

The baby struggle

Nap time and sleepy time for little ones, boys and girls is very important! 😴A few things that help this babygirl drop off to dreamland include: 

- Maya - A stuffy to cuddle to sleep is VERY important!

- Binkie - Sometimes this baby likes to suck her thumb but a pacifier is just as soothing for this little one

- Onesie or Footed Sleeper (depending on how cold the room is) a clean, lavender smelling, warm soft but breathable onesie is comfy to sleep in, and helps hold baby’s overnight diaper in place

- Daddy’s arms, or body warmth - whether it’s the classic spoon position, or head on daddy’s chest - the body contact and feeling of a caregiver’s warmth and beating heart can help make baby feel safe and protected and sleepy

- Nursery Music - Daddy uses Spotify to play gentle piano covers of Disney songs. These provide perfect lullaby background music to fall asleep to and is as effective as traditional nursery rhymes / tinkerboxes.

- Bedtime story - Bedtime story read by Daddy or your caregiver - a moment to not only go on a journey together through fairylands, but also an amazing bonding experience and way to quieten and calm baby down from a long stressful day

- “Daddy ASMR” and hair strokes and forehead kisses - This is something we do - whereby daddy strokes baby’s hair and whispers into baby’s ears offering comforting, reassuring words. Everything from creating images of being surrounded by nursery items and stuffies, to “imagine your tiny feet and arms and head sinking into your crib” or a reminder that “Daddy loves you very much” before giving little kisses on baby’s forehead…

DADDY: “Okay, babybear. Today we’re gonna see if the park’s reopened!” PRINCESS: *bounces up and down* “Yay!! Park! Park!…” DADDY: “Now which stuffy would you like to take out today? Would you like to take Tigger? PRINCESS: *beams* “Yeah!” DADDY: “… or Mister Bear?” PRINCESS: *eyes widen* “Yeah!!” DADDY: “… or Clifford the Dog?” PRINCESS: *nods excitedly* “Yeah!!!” DADDY: “So… which one, princess?” PRINCESS: *thinks & cocks her head to one side, looking at her shoes* “Well, Tigger WUVS the see-saw cos he gets to bouncy-bouncy, but Tigger gets weally cranky strapped in da swings. Mister Bear wuvs playing with meez on da climby-framey-fingy & likes slidings, but gets weal sick onz da woundabout. As for Clifford da Dog, he’s not gone for his walkies this week, an’ everyone knows doggies need parks as part of theirz exercise and their healthy mental well-being…” DADDY: *pauses* “… You wanna take all of them don’t you?” PRINCESS: *smiles up at Daddy* “Can I, Daddy? You’re the best Daddy in the whole wide world!” 😇

Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart 🍯🧸💛

And I could waddle in every direction all day, every day.
