“Get the FUCK out of my way!”

“Yes. You seem quite enthused calling to… Damien? Damien, was it?” However, she doesn’t even hesitate to admit that yes, it is him she had been laughing at. She doesn’t even really mean to do it out of malice, or meanness. It really is amusement–after all, how can one not be entertained by a full grown man, watching clips by himself in a spacious common area, getting so engrossed to the point that he’s acting as if he was in the video itself?

“Yeah, Damien. Damien Rice. I’m a big fan. Of his music.” To say that he was a big fan was an understatement, though, and once he got started, Sangwoo found it hard to stop talking about him. “It’s a clip from his concert here, which I went to...” He was trying to explain himself, that he was reliving the moment Damien Rice called for someone to sing with him on stage during his Seoul concert, but Sangwoo thought it wasn’t going to make things any less embarrassing. “Do you listen to his music? He’s just, so awesome.”

“Sangwoo-ssi?” She calls out, wondering if anyone else is with him. As far as her line of sight goes, she can only detect the back of his head sticking out from the top of the couch.

“Something, something tickled your funny bone on your way in?” he asked, trying to fish out if it was him she was laughing at just now. Truthfully, though, he wasn’t sure if he wanted to know or if he should bring it up.

넬 (Nell) - 3인칭의 필요성 (Lost in Perspective)

When the pan she had placed on the stove is sufficiently greased and heated, she starts by sauteeing garlic and onions, the smell of which easily fills the room. It’s followed by bits and pieces of ham she had early on chopped, and finally the kimchi she buys from an ajumma who lives close by her father’s house. Just the smell is making her feel hungry, that as she adds the rice and mixes it, she almost forgets Sangwoo’s presence in the room.

That, however, was hard to do with the smell floating in the air. Sangwoo disliked fried rice, but the smell that came from Junhee’s cooking madehim hungry again, even when he was almost done with his meal. He craned his neck from where he sat to get a look at what he was cooking and wished he had been nicer to her (though, truthfully, he believed he already did more than his best in that regard) so he could ask about it. He could only hope that she wouldn’t catch him looking.

She has to admit, traveling just with Roy is an awkward image in her head, especially since they don’t really know each other that well. If it happens though, she figures they’ll just have to make an extravagant trip out of it and invite other people living in the house. She gathers that would be a fun and great idea. “Well, yeah, I wouldn’t mind, if you really want to visit your mother’s hometown. I can show you around–we can invite some friends too, you know?” She smiles, and nods. They didn’t have to finalize plans right now, but it was something she’d genuinely put on the table.

“Hey!” She calls out sharply, unabl;e to believe that he’s about to do what she thinks  he’s about to  do. Before she can go on to scold him, however, he’s stepping away again and walking back to the table. Still, the thought that he’d considered to throw it away, just like that, has caused some sort of annoyance to bubble up inside her. “Wow, you must be so rich, simply thinking of wasting food like that,” she spits out, suddenly feeling like he would have done it if she wasn’t around.

“Besides, what’s it to you, anyway?” he asked, as soon as he felt like he couldn’t continue eating it any longer. He felt like his jaws hurt from chewing rice so hard and dry, and he was getting considerably full as well. His appetite was ordinarily a lot bigger, but his stomach always shrank by half whenever he didn’t like the food.

The thought of his mother finding out about him doing music on the street as a so-called side job made his heart sunk slightly. She didn’t know and he promised her to focus on his studies that she paid for while breaking her back but music was something he couldn’t gave up on. Even though his mother supported his talent and dream, Seungyoon felt like at least he had to gave her a more concrete success first. “They… Don’t know. Especially noona’s. They would probably smack me on the head for giving her the idea.”, the boy laughed sheepishly. “Why weird, though? Isn’t that your nickname? Or not everyone call you that?”, he looked over to the male with a slight confusion and fear of him intruding something that he shouldn’t have. “What would you be playing if it’s not guitar? I think it’ll be quite difficult to get it out on the streets.”, from his time around Hongdae and Seoul in general, the pair had seen many street musicians with their own instruments, from electric guitar to saxophones. Maybe it wouldn’t be that impossible in the big capital.

“Oh, okay.” His eyes widened slightly, while he felt embarrassed for having assumed the opposite. “So, they don’t know either? What would happen if they found out?” It was somehow comforting that they were on the same boat in that regard, though having to hide something important from one’s parents was an unpleasant circumstance that he wouldn’t wish upon anyone. “Ah, it’s just... it’s the name non-Korean friends called me back home, and now it’s something like a stage name. It’s like... Lady Gaga being called Lady Gaga by her friends instead of Stefani,” he said, laughing, though he felt a little embarrassed having to explain it. “Does that make sense? But it’s all right, really. It shouldn’t be an issue.” He then rubbed his chin in thought. “The keyboard, but... I feel like using the keyboard as the sole accompaniment to a song would make a song too mellow for busking, and I can’t play two instruments at a time,” he said, with the last part in a more joking tone. “So maybe a harmonica, but I haven’t found time to learn it yet. Have you guys tried using anything other than a guitar?”

“Really, I can come with you? You wouldn’t mind?” He looked up at her, with his surprise briefly overcoming his inability to gaze at her directly. He thought it would be nice, to get out of Seoul for a few days with a friend, but he wondered if it was possible to go there with Mina. Even with money, he wasn’t sure if he could be a good travel companion, given that he couldn’t even look at her properly for more than five seconds yet. It might not be a good idea for him, too, for he’d keep thinking about Jihye all throughout. He gave her a small sheepish grin, then looked down on the floor and spoke quietly. “That would be nice, actually. Someday, maybe, if I save up enough.” A small laugh followed, to show that he meant that partially as a joke. 

“It’s rice,” she points out, after taking a glimpse as to what the male is eating. “What is there not to like?”

“It’s from yesterday,” he answered finally, hoping that was enough of an explanation. Again, he took a bite and struggled to swallow it down, his difficulty again showing on his features. The sauce of the curry he was eating it with wasn't enough to make it softer and more palatable for him. He stood up, and with the bowl in hand, he took a couple of steps towards the trash bin, then suddenly went back to his seat, sighing.
