the difference between black reader fics and non-black reader fics is that us black authors make it known that y/n is black. most of us include that in our notes. as for the non-black readers, y’all swear up and down that y/n is neutral, but always describe y/n as white or someone with fair skin. if we being real, black reader fics are more neutral than the neutral fics y’all swear y’all write. with the exception of skin color and hair texture, the way we describe our reactions are more inclusive. (ex. skin feeling hot as suppose to cheeks turning red) if your fic is self-indulgent just say that. hell. make it an OC if you got to. but this y/n’s knuckles do not turn white. 🗿

Just saw your post and honestly? I used to see so many anime-only people thirst for him to inexpainable lengths, without knowing anything about him besides the fact that he is Megumi's dad. That's where a lot of mischaracterization came from at the beginning, I fear🥲🖤

i do hope people at least find a good analysis of toji’s character before the new season comes out (if they don’t plan on reading the manga) and i’m not talking about reading his fandom wiki page. there’s so many posts on here & twitter threads giving a good in depth characterization of toji’s character. to me i feel like many people mischaracterized toji’s character simply because of the way they write him in their fics. granted everybody writes characters differently, but the way a good portion of writers write him..it just make me raise my eyebrows and i feel like they don’t see how important and how well written he is as a character.
if he isn’t animated “correctly” which is me just saying if he isn’t animated to the way of people standards, i do believe a lot of people are going to be upset. which i hope they don’t lose sight of the fact that a portion of people that work for these animation companies are overworked, underpaid, etc.
but you know i’m just going to prepare myself for the pain the shibuya arc is going to put us through.

he talks in his sleep. it’s usually incoherent words or phrases you can’t make out most of the time. although one time you could make out a small ‘i love you’ from him and it made your heart melt. unconsciously grabs for you if you aren’t cuddling him when he’s sleep. and then quite literally bear hugs you. you stay in one position the entire night because you can’t move out of his grip sometimes.
