As i love math and geometry, i studied and created a series of letters using trigonometry and basic math laws. Aesthetically i made them like neon signs in a frame. As you may know i don't care about font foundries or families. I would like to start from scratch, so i moved in this way. Yours, LWX

'The Age of Distraction.' Final Year Project. We live in curious times. It’s called the Age of Information, but in another light it can be called the Age of Distraction. This project is about finding the simplicity in this age of distraction. To become more mindful over the present moment as opposed to investing attention on superficial external distractions or noisey ‘over- analysed’ internal distractions. Our attention spans are continuously decreasing thanks to the “hyper-linked” nature of technology. Skimming through short-cuts through a web of distractable information, are we really taking everything in? We could be missing significant moments of our lives thanks to adopting to these tabloid sensibilities. This is why it’s so important to keep it simple, focus on one thing and be present in that current moment. This project aims to encourage people to stop ‘skimming’ through different moments in their life. To pay more attention to detail, ‘the fine printed’ nature of things. 

Alexandr Aubakirov, The Letters in the Cities, October 3, 2016.

Russian designer Aubakirov designed a series of posters of different cities of the world. The way he laced his text within each cityscape looks chic and professional. The hierarchy in each poster is well balanced as it blends in with the shape of the city’s architecture and provides some breathing room for viewers. The structure of the text is also finely positioned, providing viewers with a clear idea of what these posters stand for: architecture and text.

Wolfgang Weingart

“Wolfgang Weingart is considered the "enfant terrible" of modern Swiss typography. Early on, he breaks with its established rules: He frees the characters from the shackles of the design grid, locks, highlights or deform it and assigns the set picture new. Later he mounted grid films to collagen and thus takes the digital sampling of postmodern New Wave anticipated.As Typography teacher at the Basel School of Design characterizes Weingart from 1968, several generations of the Formative. They come from around the world and contribute to its international reputation at. Weingarts experimental design approach and promoted by him connecting analog and digital techniques are relevant again today. His life's work was first shown in Switzerland and compared with the work of his classes.

Jessica Hische, CAA Friday Night Party, 2013.

Hische: “Thao Nguyen contacted me about designing the invite to CAA’s Friday Night Party after being sent my way by Brian Rea (thanks Brian!). They wanted something deco / flapper inspired as the party would have a bit of this theme thanks to the release of The Great Gatsby that year. I was also able to attend the party, which was one of the most surreal nights of my life. I can tell you that all celebrities are as attractive as you’d imagine and they all seemed like genuinely nice, down to earth people (though I didn’t talk to a single one of them because I was too intimidated).”

Etsy sellers were encouraged to "break new ground"—both creatively and as business owners—during the holiday season for our 2013 seller-facing holiday campaign. This message was communicated across multiple deliverables including online educational materials, Scout Book notebooks, a letterpress and gold foil 2014 calendar, and thank you cards.

It’s funny that there is a “black metal look” as you can tell from the type here. Bands Skogmark, Crushing Intolerance, and Smuteční slavnost (translates to ‘Mourning’) all follow the trend of highly organic type which resembles roots or perhaps bacteria colonies.
