GOODY TWO SHOES

Jane gives his hand a gentle squeeze, enough to let him know that she’s not going anywhere. Ollie’s a brave kid in her opinion, but she gets it. If he wasn’t a little scared of the city, she’d be worried; it’s when people stop fearing it that they get themselves into dangerous shit. Jane thinks it’s good that he’s wary. But still – there’s a difference between wary and terrified.

Her biggest fear is one of those fucking killer clowns popping up out of nowhere. She’s only ever seen once, and thank God Ollie wasn’t there, because if she had nightmares for a week afterwards, she can only imagine how bad it would affect the poor kid. 

       “Hey, he’s not. He’s one of the nice ones.” To prove it, she gives the guy a wave, and sure enough he smiles and waves back, giving a wave specifically to Oliver as well. Jane squeezes his hand again. “Wave back, kiddo.”

  He looks up at Jane and his gaze softens when she squeezes his hand. She’s here with him and that’s all he can ask for. Although it’s just a simple gesture, it let’s him know that she’ll be there for him, whatever happens.

   He watches the two exchange greetings and before he knows it, is smiling back at the clown. He waves back when Jane asks him to and the fear he once felt, slowly disappears. 

     There’s nothing holding Roy back in regards to his own feelings. Though whether it’s just his hormones driving him or more than that, he couldn’t say at this point. All he knows is Oliver is cute and for what reason letting Roy hold him and kiss him.

Right behind the younger boy, he treads carefully on the stairs. Luckily he had much practice at his own house, as he always tried to keep the attention of his foster parents to a minimum. There’s the tiniest of reassuring smiles on his face when Oliver seems anxious that his mother would wake up.

He barely notices the end of the staircase, being much too occupied by the boy infront of him. Though as he steps towards him, there’s sounds coming from a down the hall. By now Roy knows what rooms are what.  “ You’re shitfaced, “  he whispers to start with, pausing to listen if the sounds keep being heard.  “ Go in and pretend you passed out, I’ll handle it. “

He looks between Roy and his mother’s doorway down the hall. He frowns when Roy let’s him know he’s shitfaced. It’s obvious but he didn’t think it was that obvious. He wants to argue but quickly remembers that there's a 90% chance that his mother is awake and just waiting to catch them.

He simply nods and gives Roy a quick kiss before he starts quietly down the hallway. He holds his breath as he passes his mom’s door. He gets to his room safely and drops on to his bed. As excited as he is to finally be doing this his blankets are calling his name, he might really pass out. He blinks away the darkness of the room and his tiredness as he waited for Roy.
