Twst glasses headcanons, basically who wears them and why
Riddle has a pair of reading glasses he uses while studying but he doesn't need them all the time
Trey obviously has glasses but his prescription is better than azuls but bad enough that he's as blind as a bat
Cater has a small prescription, just enough to bother him but he wears contacts most of the time, he does have a few different frames for different outfits if he wants
Deuce also has a pair of reading glasses that he didn't wear before but started after he found out Riddle also has a pair
Ace has astigmatism but he lies and says he doesn't have anything wrong with his eyes since he doesn't like his glasses
Ruggie does has a prescription but it's small enough that it doesn't bother him and besides he couldn't afford glasses if he wanted them, also the same reason he wears glasses in his dream since he can afford them
Azul also obviously has glasses but his prescription is very high in human form but is way better in mer form, to the point he doesn't need glasses in mer form since his eyes are built to be underwater so he can't see well on land
The Tweels both have astigmatism that's worse in their yellow eyes, it doesn't bother either of them but Floyd likes to play it up for shits and giggles
Kalim has a small prescription but it was caught early since his parents wanted to make sure he was very healthy so he tends to wear contacts
Rook is actually nearsighted so he trained himself to get better at hearing where a target is to hunt them, once he transfered to Pomfiore Vil made him get contacts and glasses
Epel is nearsighted in his left eye and farsighted in his right, he wore glasses back in Harveston and Vil introduced him to contacts and while he was uncomfortable touching his eyes at first but he got used to it
Idia is nearsighted since hes stared at screens since he was a kid, he also has a blue light filter on his glasses to prevent further damage, while he doesn't wear them much Ortho forces him to wear them
Malleus, Lilia, and Sebek all have light sensitivity since they are nocturnal fae, Malleus and Lilia have gotten used to light since they have lived for a while, and Sebek has it better since he's half human
On the light sensitivity Malleus and Lilia used to cast enchantments to prevent them getting blinded from going into a bright environment but with the invention of sunglasses Lilia began to wear them
Malleus still uses the enchantments but sometimes he decides to wear sunglasses after book 7
Skully has astigmatism and light sensitivity and his sunglasses are prescription (or at least the equivalent of his time) for his astigmatism, which is another reason he loves the dim aesthetic of his Halloween since it doesn't hurt his eyes
Fellow needs glasses but he only has one pair with a broken lense (inspired by his groovy) and he can't afford a new pair
Rollo is farsighted but it doesn't really affect him to the point to needing glasses but he still wears them
Any characters not mentioned don't wear glasses or I can't see them with glasses also sorry for bad formatting I wrote this on my phone

After a mage dies, their stone turns grey and lifeless. Most of the time mages are buried with their wands or magic pens. However, King Malleus of Briar Valley wears 3 grey mage stones on his belt. They hang from a chain and swing as he walk.
For 500 years, every painting and portrait of him features the three stones no matter the outfit he wears. No one knows who they belong to and no one dares ask since every time they do, the sky turns grey and rain pours relentlessly for days.

may i order a scenario with a ruggie and a picky eater reader? ruggie gets to dnack on everything reader wont eat.. ლ( ◕ᗜ◕ )
Ah, esteemed patron! Welcome!
What a delightful, practical, and utterly symbiotic order you have placed! A plate of Golden Calamari Rings featuring Ruggie Bucchi and a picky eater?
My, my. This is a match made in culinary heaven. You have essentially paired a "person who leaves food behind" with a "person who hates food waste." It is the most efficient, logical, and surprisingly sweet relationship dynamic possible. Ruggie Bucchi would not just tolerate a picky eater; he would cherish one.
The kitchen has prepared this "dish" with a side of extra portions (for Ruggie, of course). I do hope this is to your satisfaction!
Serving: The Perfect Symbiosis (Ruggie x Picky Eater)
You Are His Favorite Dining Companion. Ruggie usually eats fast and scavenges, but with you, lunch is a joy. He will sit right next to you, eyeing your tray with a happy, knowing glint in his eye. He knows the routine. He knows you won't eat the pickles, the crusts, or the weird vegetables in the stew. To anyone else, you are a "picky eater." To Ruggie, you are a generous provider.
"Are You Gonna Eat That?" This is his catchphrase. He doesn't even wait for you to push the plate away anymore. He just points with his fork. "You gonna eat that mushroom? No? Yoink." He is fast. Before you can even grimace at the offending food item, it is gone, vanished into Ruggie's stomach. He loves that you hate onions. He loves that you don't like the fat on the steak. He views your dislikes as his personal bonus menu.
He Encourages You to Order Big. Ruggie is smart. He will encourage you to get the "Deluxe Set" even if he knows you'll only eat the main course. "C'mon, get the set with the sides! It's a better value!" He says this knowing fully well that he is going to eat 80% of those sides. He treats your tray as an extension of his own. It’s a team effort.
The "Sorting" Ritual. It becomes a domestic little habit. Before you start eating, Ruggie will sometimes help you "prep" your food. He'll happily pick the peppers off your pizza or scoop the unwanted sauce off your plate onto his. He's surprisingly dexterous with his utensils. "Here, lemme get the gross green stuff off for ya. Shishishi, don't want you starvin' because of a little spinach." He frames it as him helping you, but really, he's just securing his snack.
He Defends Your Habits. If anyone else (like Ace or Sebek) tries to tease you about being picky ("Wow, you eat like a kid!"), Ruggie will shut them down immediately. "Hey! Zip it! Leave 'em alone!" he'll snap, ears pinning back. He defends you not just because he likes you, but because if you stop being picky, he stops getting extra food. You are a vital resource, and he protects his resources. "They got refined taste," he'll declare, stealing your leftover fries. "More for me. Keep walkin'."
A "dish" served with zero waste and maximum satisfaction! The kitchen is delighted to have served you, patron.
We do hope this Golden Calamari Rings dish was to your liking!
Context: Yuu's not normal, and that fact caught up to them
TW(s): I mention sedatives a LOT. it's what the mini-fic revolves around
Extra(s): Another one shot I never finished. It's old, meaning the writing is eh. but. 🤷♀️
Yuu really wishes they had their daily dose of sedative right about now
AND THEY KNOW HOW THAT SOUNDS, OKAY!? YOU DON’T GOTTA TELL THEM.
Yuu sighs and drags their shaky hands down their face, surely agitating the already bloodshot eyes and causing their eyelids to twitch once more. They’re glad nobody’s A: noticed the behavior, or B: if they did, came up to ask. They don’t think they’d know where to start in explaining.
And Yuu is especially glad that Grim just took the explanation; “It’s a my world thing.”
He just took it, no questions asked. And Yuu can not be more grateful.
How do they explain to their (maybe child mentality) cat of a partner that–oh yeah! My world popped a ley line open so now a portion of the population has superpowers and Yuu’s is the ability to have their fight or flight response meter turned up to eleven! How do they explain that their body has been genetically altered to be able to keep up with just how much adrenaline their body pumps out in just a minute!? How does one explain that!?
So, Yuu stays quiet about the whole thing, letting Grim blurt out the almost truth that they told him, hoping that no one thinks to question it, or the many habits Yuu cannot squash.
One being, the constant use of sedatives back home, that translated into having to get used to the lack of them here in Twisted Wonderland. Because it would be too suspicious if Yuu just asked for sedatives, so they just have to deal with it.
And they do, eventually. Before Vil’s overblot had happened, Yuu got used to hiding shaky hands with a quick change of their position, walking with their hands clasped lazily behind their back, the gloves hiding a bit of the shaking. Yuu got used to excusing their blood shot eyes for allergies and not sleeping on time. Yuu got used to rearing back on flooding their system with adrenaline nearly every P.E class. They got used to it.
Did Vil immediately work on trying to better their appearance when the VDC event rolled around, ignoring their reasonings of, “My hair’s just a bit gray!” or “This is a normal weight. For me, at least.”
Oh, how mad he would be if he found that a good portion of Yuu’s appearance could be easily fixed should they add a training regime to their schedule that would knock a normal person out cold, but give them the after-work out glow they once had.
But! No, Yuu has to maintain a low profile and suddenly working out in insane ways is not discrete whatsoever.
In the meantime, while they try to figure something out, Yuu will have to deal with their fluctuating weight, gray hairs, bloodshot eyes, shaky hands, fatigue, restlessness, bodily tension, migraines, sleeping problems, and stomach pain for now.
Yuu mentally goes over the list once more, and frowns at the length.
Add ‘horrible immune system’ to the list, because this cold is killing them. They normally don’t get sick, and when they do, it’s not this bad.
But! At least, the cold has some benefits.
The cold gives them shaky-er hands, which Yuu can pump some adrenaline to take care of quickly. Welcome back, steady hands, Yuu missed you.
Yuu can–temporarily–pass off their blood shot eyes as simply watery. They don’t have to worry about appearing like they’re experiencing fatigue or discomfort, because a quick surge of adrenaline will have them appearing as lucid as ever. Even though Yuu feels like they’re dying.
With a quick surge of adrenaline ever so often, Yuu’s looked better than ever! Just as long as Vil doesn’t catch wind of their ‘normal’ appearance, Yuu will be just fine.
Then, Yuu went to P.E. and began to damn the universe.
Because, of course, Vargas is making them run the track, what else would they do while everyone is in the air on their brooms? It’s not like they could just sit and everything be peaceful for a bit for them. Noooo.
Yuu misses their doses of sedatives, because the part of their brain that controls the adrenaline starts to kick into overdrive when they begin to run.
They can’t stop, not if they want Vargas to see the slow return of the shaky hands, now growing to encompass their whole body. No, they have to hide their growing symptoms of adrenaline rush, as they breathe erratically while trying to rear back the reins of their adrenal glands.
Their glands don’t listen and Yuu can’t stop their legs from pumping to go faster.
The worst part is the exhilarated feeling in their chest while a grin grows on their face to reflect it. This feels so good, releasing the adrenaline in bursts after so long of having to just deal with it. Yuu has to hold back the excited sound in their chest as their body takes them even faster.
Adrenaline just keeps on flowing, happy to assist this moment of freedom that Yuu has. The class is distracted, Vargas is distracted, who cares if Yuu runs loose for a little while?
Yuu stumbles, once, and realizes their mistake.
They stumble, face slamming into the ground, and a resounding crack fills their ears, fighting to be heard of the sound of Yuu’s head pounding.
They fall onto the ground, face locked with a wide eyed expression, and Yuu can feel the exact moment their adrenaline comes to a head, can feel the exact moment where they enter cardiac arrest.
With the last few seconds of consciousness they have, they do the practiced motion of preparing a surge of adrenaline, planning to kick start their heart. It’ll hurt, and they’ll feel like shit afterward, but it’s better than dying.
Their mouth opens uselessly, trying desperately to intake air into their lungs, but their muscles are starting to relax, enjoying the feeling of calm after months of retaining tension. Yuu feels the adrenaline-induced tension leave their body, and feels their mind slipping.
Yuu kickstarts the adrenaline uselessly, too out of practice and body no longer used to the abuse it used to get from itself.
Yuu miscalculated, and now they’re going to die. Because their own body couldn’t keep up with the adrenaline as well as it used to.
Their body starts to convulse, trying to restart their heart naturally, but it’s useless. Yuu’s body is unused to the natural order of things, but also to the chaotic flow of its own adrenaline, which Yuu used to thrive in.
Yuu is going to die. In a damn P.E. field!
With their last precious seconds of consciousness, they strain their hearing, listening as the familiar thump of someone landing from their broom a bit too hard is heard, close to them.
Hands appearing, shaking them softly, calling their name. Yuu wants to respond, but black is starting to overtake their vision and is adamant on getting Yuu to give in to the soft blanket of unconsciousness.
Abruptly, the hands are torn away, replaced by ones that quickly check their pulse, and quickly presses their hands on Yuu’s chest.
It’s been a while since someone has performed CPR on Yuu. But it hasn’t been long enough to have them forget the feeling of having their chest pushed in with ample amount of first, over and over, until Yuu feels the slight crack of one of their ribs.
Yuu’s eyes are starting to close, but they have time to see who’s performing the painful chest compressions before they black out.
Ah. Vargas. They’re not gonna have ribs by the time this is over.
Yuu’s eyes slip shut, and unconsciousness pulls them under.
Antiseptic fills their nose, and Yuu immediately knows that they aren’t in the school infirmary. Rather, a proper hospital. Which is understandable, Yuu doesn’t think that Night Raven has the expertise to deal with a student whose heart stopped.
They groan, sitting up and ignoring the feeling of tubes in their arm, actually, no, scratch that.
Yuu zeros in on the bags of sedative attached by tubes to their arm, reading the marked labels and sighing when they predictably don’t recognize any of them.
Stupid new world and it’s odd use of chemical names. But they guess their world isn’t any better.
Shaking their head, they mentally check their adrenaline levels and notice that, because of just how much sedative is being pumped into their veins, the levels are higher than what Yuu normal keeps them(read: forces them) to be at. Of course, their adrenal glands are combating the effects, creating this odd form of delicate balance in their body.
In other words, Yuu feels…normal. Like, before their ability-activated normal.
“Huh.”
Because what else do they say to finally feeling fine after months of being on edge due to adrenaline?
They swing their legs over the edge of the hospital bed, steadying their legs before standing. Yuu quickly checks the back of the hospital gown, sighing with relief when they see it’s a full gown, not one with a huge slit in the back.
Yuu went to a hospital with those once. Never went back.
With a shudder from the memory, they steady themselves once more, before approaching the door. The nearer they get to it, the more they can hear the quiet, yet fervent, of…
Yuu looks at the door with a disgruntled expression. They’ve never heard Crowley sound so…worried. It’s disturbing, but oddly…endearing?
Yuu still doesn’t know if they should allow their lack of parental figure influence their choice of adult in their life, but hey! Crowley isn’t too bad. Yuu’s met worse!
Leaning closer to the door, Yuu catches snippets of their conversation.
“...and you’re certain they’re alright?”
“....all scans….all clear…so odd…No magic?”
“...none…how…”
“...don’t know…kept on…sedatives…doses 5 milligrams each morning…”
That’s when Yuu decided to step in, opening the door and poking their head out.
“Sorry to interrupt, but my body surpassed 5 milligrams a long time ago. Unless the sedatives here are much stronger, my go to is usually 8 to 10 milligrams of mild sedatives to keep me at steady level for at least six hours.”
Both Crowley’s and the doctor’s heads snap in their direction, eyes wide. For Crowley, it’s relief, and once again Yuu finds themselves questioning why they’re fond of this man. For the doctor, it’s pure horror.
“H-How are you awake!?” The doctor pushes them back into the room, plopping them back down on the bed. They check the drip chamber, checking the flow rate, once, twice, thrice, and then looking at Yuu with increasing medical-horror.
“Uh, don’t worry! This is normal! The adrenaline’s being pumped as fast as the sedatives are working and–”
“Creating balance in your body.”
Yuu looks at Crowley, noticing his interested look, curious even. They nod as confirmation, and Crowley continues.
“Is there not any way to cease the flow of adrenaline?”
Yuu shakes their head. “I’ve tried, but the most I can do is make it as slow as possible and just tire myself out through other activities.
“So that’s why you’re used to running yourself so ragged.”
Yuu shoots Crowley a small glare, which he responds with a simple shrug. “You think I haven’t noticed, when it is quite the opposite.”
Yuu rolls their eyes, focusing on the doctor once more. They’re flipping through papers attached to their clipboard, reading quickly and muttering to themselves. Then, they check the machines and their readings, triple checking even.
“Let me guess, everything seems to be normal? The adrenaline probably kicked in before the sedatives were administered and kicked the healing factor into overdrive. Most likely, physically, I was starting to recover before you restarted my heart.”
The doctor pauses, looking them over and just…staring.
Crowley’s eyes flick between the both of them, before he clears his throat.
“So, those sedatives?”
The doctor shakes their head, a tired expression on their face. “Yes…the doses, as Yuu suggested, will be upped to 10 milligrams instead of five, seeing as their perfectly lucid even though…”
Their eyes trail to three bags of sedatives dripping into the tube's connected to Yuu's arm.
“...that.”
A shudder runs through the doctor and they give Yuu a quick check up, deeming everything fine other than expected fatigue. They gather their things quickly, checking the machines and bags of medicine once more, before shuffling out of the room.
“I know what you're going to say. Ask. Whatever. And I just want you to know that–”
Yuu pauses, unsure how to continue their explanation. Crowley watches them with an eyebrow raised, hands behind his back.
“Know what? That you had a good reason behind not informing me of a crucial medical condition?”
“...it's not a condition. Just…sit,” Yuu pats the bed next to them, scooting to make room for Crowley to sit. He does so, hand folded in his lap as he looks at them expectantly. Yuu brings their knee up to rest on the bed and shifts to face him better.
“Then, what is it, Prefect?”
Yuu sighs heavily, and instinctually flips their wrist to check their pulse. It’s a habit they never wore off from when they were younger. They’ve had to come up with excuse after excuse when someone gets too curious and asks.
“...have I ever spoken to you about the intricacies of my world?” Yuu speaks softly, watching the headmage’s reaction. Yuu knows the answer, but they still want to hear it from him..
“No, you refrain from speaking of your world.” Crowley tilts his head and the yellow dots Yuu sees through his mask narrow. “Is there a…reason for that?”
Oh boy. Well, here goes Yuu.
They should really stop all this mental chatter.
“...You have powers.”
“Yes.”
“Because of an accident involving the leylines in your world.”
“Yes.”
“And about sixty percent of the population doesn’t have abilities. Therefore, there are specialized facilities and services for…your people.”
“The Gifted, yeah.”
“And yours in particular, is to control your adrenaline levels at any given moment. Which you’ve had…since you were eleven years old. And have had many incidents like this one since your ability’s upbringing.”
“Yep.”
Crowley’s yellow eyes disappear and reappear repeatedly, and Yuu guesses that he’s blinking rapidly as he processes everything they just told him. Yuu didn’t think he blinked at all. He never seems to.
“...I hope you understand that this is hard to believe–that is not an invitation to activate your adrenal glands! –Prefect! Stop it!”
might actually rewrite this one...love this concept. also, can we see the color gradient in the text or does it just look like one color?
The calm evening breeze peeks through his window, his eyes catching how the pages of the book he's reading flutter. Grey eyes study the pages, wearied from revision since who knows how long. It's only when a whine escapes your lips that he looks up, eyes widening in shock as you stretch. The top you wear rides up your ribcage, showing off your figure. Your eyes are closed as you groan from how utterly tired you are. The fatigue leaves your body with a pop as you replicate the stances a cat might when as fatigued as you, wanting to laze around.
All he can think in the moment is how beautiful you are.
It's not as if you notice how Riddle's gaze never once leaves you, his face suddenly as red as the roses Cater had painted. He shouldn't stare, it isn't gentlemanly and not appropriate in any way - no matter how close you are to him. Not even if you're his lover. He has half a mind to scold you, to give you a lecture about how mustn't do so in front of him and much less others. Though, for some reason no words leave his lips and it's only then that he realizes that he's been subtly chewing on them, biting the flesh ever so slightly that it's a pretty pink. He's quite cute at the moment, utterly mesmerized by you - trying to look away, but he can't. He doesn't want to.
He's warm all over when you look back at him, opening your eyes and offering him a lazy smile - body splawed in a manner that only gave leeway to lewd thoughts. He feels so awfully guilty, his rosy cheeks burning a fire inside him. A feeling so rough as though a thorny rose bush was crawling inside him, wrapping around his heart till it burst. A fire traveling down his body to places it shouldn't.
He only looked away in response with a flustered scoff, making it clear that he was embarrassed. However, you weren't sure why. You could only crawl towards him from the other side of the bed, wanting to be closer to your love. He wished for the moment, to maintain his dignity, that you didn't. For the manner in which you came his way could only be called seductive, as if you wanted to ruin him or get ruined yourself.
He scolded himself internally, trying his best to maintain his composure. He felt so horrible for what he was thinking, the way he was thinking about you. It sullied you, and with the way he was raised he felt as though he'd committed a grave sin. His ashy eyes fell onto you once you'd reached him, curling into his side with a playful smile. You were so endearing yet so distracting.
You had no clue what you were doing to him, did you? Not when you leaned over to kiss him. It was tantalizing, playing with the restraint he was trying to withold.
Nevertheless, the book slipped from his hands and his lips met yours. One kiss wouldn't hurt, would it?
ᥫ᭡. Leona Kingscholar ᥫ᭡.
A peaceful slumber is all he wanted really, what else did he ever want? The short answer was: You. If there was one thing he'd rather have other than sleep, it would be you - in more ways than one.
It was a hot afternoon and with how Leona was, he planned on taking a long nap. Of course, with you in his arms, cuddled and huddled up to him. It would be hot and sweaty, though no matter how much you tried he wouldn't let go - at least not till half an hour. That was how it was meant to go. A simple nap and maybe some cuddling.
Unfortunately it didn't go that way. Not when he couldn't get a wink of sleep with how you clung to him, a leg over his - bodies touching as if melting into one. No space in between your bodies as if you were waltzing in bed. You nape was exposed too, as if tempting him to take a bite of a forbidden fruit. Yet your slumber was so peaceful, such an adorable sight.
He felt awful for how hot he felt, his face tinged crimson with fluster. He could only stare, for the first time feeling unsure where to touch. You were asleep and here he was thinking about the position the both of you were in, how vulnerable you were around him. How lucky was he for such a wonderful gift. He was scared to either wake you or something within himself - yeah he felt like such a dick, quite awful. Not very princely of him, huh?
It's only when you opened your eyes, asking what was wrong that he realized how long he'd been staring. Though it was surely your fault, if you'd simply stayed asleep he could ignore it - now though? It was so different.
Your arms clung around his neck, pulling him closer and your legs tightened around his hips. It was innocent enough, to you maybe - it could be a sign to cuddle and kiss. To him? All he could think about was how you'd look after hours and hours of intimacy. How hoarse your voice would be, how you'd shake and tremble at his touch - how you might feel even a morsel of the yearning he felt for you in the most carnal manner possible. How sore you'd be in every part of your body and how long the both of you would go on and on and on.
Don't blame him for finishing what you started, especially when you pulled him into a deep kiss. Needless to say, it would be long before you left his room. Not that you mind.
ᥫ᭡. Azul Ashengrotto ᥫ᭡.
The clean scent of the sea melted into a warm musk filled Azul's office. The desk filled with paperwork and contracts from poor unfortunate souls whom he'd save so graciously.
But who's going to to save him from you?
It's not that you're doing anything, simply sitting on a plush lounge chair, knees huddled with the slightest gap between, and hands holding your phone that you're seemingly engrossed in. Maybe it's because you're doing nothing that his mind is wandering.
Your lips part before you begin to bite them again - He can't look away. In fact, he hasn't finished a single document since you came in. All he's done is try and try only to be distracted by you - the way you clumsily laugh at a meme or the way you sigh, waiting for him to be done for the day. And yet all he thinks about is how you'd taste and how you'd feel.
With the way you sit there, it's as if you want him to be shameless. As if you want him to lose it and act on these impudent thoughts. Suddenly the room feels hot as his suit clings to him. You look up to him, smiling and asking how far he's done with work - he's certainly not and it seems he won't be anytime soon. Not when you're walking up to him and looking down at him with those eyes - what's a poor unfortunate soul like him meant to do when you've stolen his heart?
You lean over his table complaining, joking of course, about how long he's taking. And all he does is look at your plush lips, then your collarbone, and then down to your legs. He feels guilty, he doesn't want to look at you this way - what if you find him disgusting? It's wrong isn't it? Even if you're his lover.
But then he wonder again, is it so wrong to long for you in the manner he is? When you're this beautiful? As ethereal as a pearl, one he wants to cage within his arms.
Is it so wrong to want to kiss you right here and right now? Ignore all the paperwork he has, to melt into a heap of cuddles and your warm embrace? To have you so selfishly?
You didn't even need a contract, all you did was bat those lashes and give him that smile - one that left blood rushing to every part of his body.
So don't blame him after sitting down on his lap, because you both know where that's going to go - especially given the look in his eyes, all clouded in hunger and the need to worship.
ᥫ᭡. Kalim Al-Asim ᥫ᭡.
Loving comes naturally to Kalim with how happy he always seems, ready to include everyone. Though it's so different with you, it's so real. Devoid of performative actions to appeal to you on the surface, instead he truly wants you to like him for him. That true love written in fairy tales, that's what he'd compare to what the both of you share. All rosy cheeks, flustered words, and holding hands during the sunset. Kissing under the moonlight without a care of what comes tomorrow.
It's more than perfect. It's where his home lies, deep in your arms. That's where he is at the moment, simply cuddling with you. His head lies in your lap while his arms wrap around your waist. His face nuzzles into your chest as you lay back into dozens of silken pillows. Your hands find his milky hair, massaging his scalp slowly. It's the most sugary moment ever, like candied apples and cotton candy.
So why is it that Kalim's head is going to a place it certainly shouldn't - when you're doing the most innocent thing like scratching his head. When you're simply talking about your day. When all you're doing is speaking. So why does it feel so tempting, why does he feel so needy?
All he can do is focus on the proximity, the way his face nuzzles into your chest. The way his arms wrap around your waist. The way your floral perfume fills his nose, the one he got you.
It's suddenly so intimate, so sensual. Maybe it's the fact that you're covered things he's gotten for you, that fact makes him feel a certain way he hasn't before - the realization takes root in something other than joy. A feeling that blooms into something sensual and possessive. His body seems to act on his own, holding you closer and tighter. It's a failed attempt to clear his head since the embrace only gives a push to arousing thoughts. The fact that if he moved a little more he could push you down on the plush bed and be on top of you while you're under him-
It's you who brings him back from his thoughts, a giggle leaving your lips as you repeat a joke you'd apparently said which he failed to hear. You thought he was daydreaming.
Surely thinking of making love to you could classify as such, right? Maybe he's not as innocent as everyone thinks.

Out of the all the dorms, Heartslabyul is special.
It is the only one that moves.
Riddle can influence it some, but the halls have minds of their own when it is time to shift. Order is necessary, so it only shifts at the chime of the dorm's grandfather clock, every other hour. The dorm doesn't shift the garden as often as it does the halls, only when Riddle gives it the okay for it do so.
It's ideal for the garden to shift just before it's time to give the hedges and roses a refresh.
Heartslabyul experiences the shifting of the garden about once a month, and on that day, all students from the dorm are given an excused absence in order tend to the garden. The dorm reacts happily to the pampering, graciously setting up the venue all by itself for the mass tea party that comes after, as a treat for the card soldiers.
Riddle can differentiate his fondness for his cards from its fondness towards the cards, but nobody can blame him when he needs a moment or two to make sure he and the dorm do not get too tangled together. During this time, the clocks within the dorm tick quietly, and the clinking of porcelain as it's moved is muffled.
When the housewarden angers—truly angers, not just reprimanding rulebreakers—the roses close and the thorns usually hidden by the plentiful hedge are visible. The dorm shakes—it's doors, the plates, the cabinets and everything inside them—until Riddle collects himself.
After those instances, the cards make it a point to be gentler with the doors and are careful of where they step and how they do it, just until the dorm has calmed down again.
The dorm was curious about the prefect when they first entered the makeshift Queendom. They've had many visitors, but not one so...quietly amazed by everything. Their presence was just barely there, nearly covered by the magical energy of the two that flanked them.
[Riddle had felt the tug of the dorm's curiosity all day after the prefect had left.]
The events of the first week had left everyone rattled, which reflected on the dorm. While confined to his bed as he healed, Riddle had to deal with the constant tugging from the dorm—is the Queen alright? The cards need order and safety promised to them, you are missing one—
Missing one?
Riddle realized what the dorm was hinting at when he first reached out to fix the prefect's tie and grazed their chest. Even from this distance from the dorm, the tug from the dorm was strong.
Ah.
Missing one.
𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟: 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐰
The dorm tugs at Leona more than he does to it. Normally, it lingers in a corner of his mind, silent and watching through his perch on the tallest rock over looking the dorm.
It tugs when it wants to observe and the only way for Leona to get it to stop is to follow through with what it wants. Once on the perch, it quiets down, preforming a head count of those within the lounge, then stretching to check the ones holed up in their rooms.
A grateful tug and silent murmur, and Leona is free to get down when he pleases.
[After he preforms his own headcount.]
Savanaclaw hardly changes its climate. There's a rumor that the dorm uniform magically regulates your temperature when you wear it, since it's such a mystery how no one has managed to pass out from heat stroke. The ones that have didn't pertain to Savanaclaw.
The reason behind it is because Leona, and by extension, the dorm, rarely ever get angry enough to allow the magical stability shift. Leona get annoyed—often—but keeps it away from the tug of the dorm, letting it remain pleasantly warm in the savannah.
Temperatures plummeted abruptly when Leona overblotted. The tree that held the dorm's banner wilted, branches curling inward as the humidity grew along with the falling temperatures.
Disorienting couldn't begin to describe how the humidity pushed against their chests while the cold made their breaths visible and teeth began to clatter.
It hasn't been that cold since. The biggest contribution on Leona's part. One that everyone is wise to not point out. The dorm keeps it warm, watches the terribly linked makeshift pack to be sure of no...excessive in fighting, warms the rocks just enough to rest against when it's in a particular good mood, and lets the prefect in without a problem.
Scarabia's students can handle the heat, but not for long until the dorm drives the visitors off unless they have unspoken permission to be there. The prefect, however...
The prefect is the only one other than the Savanaclaw students to describe it as 'warm'.
Because it's what the dorm wants them to feel.
They might not be able to see it, but everyone else certainly can. Magic warps the space around them when they step through the mirror, blocking out heat to allow only warmth for the duration of their stay. Because the dorm compelled it so.
No warning tug for Leona to ensure they can be allowed inside, or building heat to drive them off. They're allowed to go as they please, at least in the dorm's opinion.
It respects them. Admires their dedication towards this schools and the students inside Savanaclaw. They've proven they're not weak, that they're willing to raise a hand against someone if it goes against what they believe is right, only after exhuasting all other options. They're smart, difficult to hunt if they ever wanted to be.
It's tempted to tug at Leona until he shows them how to hide what little is left of their presence, or how to wash off the magical residue of all they come in contact with to make them untraceable. It likes to imagine what it would be like if the prefect dared to be a little less nicer when the time calls for it.

All it takes is a ripple to create a tide. Azul understands this better than most, and yet.
His grip over his side of the bond is tight, making sure nothing from his end leaks through and causes chaos for their waters. But he cracks, and his grip falters, and the dorm tugs at the chance to finally feel what its housewarden feels and—
And it murks.
Thankfully, the water on the outside of the glass wall in the Mostro Lounge is separate to the rest of it all, so customers have no view of how it essentially becomes impossible, even for those with adept eye sight, to make out anything through the murky waters.
They've tested it again and again; it's not ink, or dirt, it's just...murky. Like the magical output is so high, it fogs up everything and keeps everyone in their rooms and out of the water until Azul realizes his mistake and restrains his side of the bond yet again.
And the cycle starts again.
The water fogged over heavily when Azul overblotted—both with ink and with the magical fog that only ever seemed to appear in this dorm, because no one in this dorm has ever felt truly safe with each other, so what better way for the dorm to respond than to hide them while the Housewarden looses his grip on the bond—
That hasn't happened since. Not because he's better. But because he knows his limit with the bond.
And the only one to confront him about this was the prefect. They arrived after hours in the lounge, sat down at the bar tops as Azul was counting his profit of the day, and stared. Stared until he made due on the promise they had jokingly made one day, and he had jokingly agreed to.
He took them into one of the pools, and got in along with them, because that's what they wanted.
The prefect knew—somehow—and took his hand and felt safe enough to float beside him. Safe. In Octavinelle. He floated beside them, potion keeping him human shedding off his skin as the dorm kept him afloat, but crawled up his side to cover his gills, give him the air he needed while he clutched their hand and felt...safe.
The water around the prefect held them up gently, pleasant against their skin as they looked over and smiled softly at Azul.
The pools leading to the outside of Octavinelle—the sea—opened up on their own, and some took it as invitation. The water swelled and greeted them and felt wonderful against their skin. Shadows cast across windows and let others know that—apparently—races were a thing they did in Octavinelle. Apparently.
The dorm was reluctant to let go of the prefect when they decided any longer would get them sick. They nearly slipped countless times from the water trying to lead them back into the pool. In the end, they had laughed gently and patted the surface of the pool, promising they'd be there the next day.
And when they entered the Mostro Lounge the next day, water rose from one of the tanks since to give them a wave. Azul had the tank removed with a slight flush as he greeted you himself.
𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟: 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐚
When in Scarabia, try not to compare their sun to the one outside the mirror dimension. Something in them—something that ingrained in each of them when the mirror named them apart of the dorm—takes major offense to it.
Their sun is...well, they can't say sacred. Their sun is important to them.
It matches the pace of the one outside the dimension of sands, rising and setting with each day.
Except when the housewarden decides a period of rest is in order.
He'd kneel by the fountain, resting his head on his arm while his hand gently grazed the water. It'd reach up for him, wrapping around his fingertips, drawing out weak giggles from the housewarden.
He's whisper something, and a gust of warm wind would sweep though the dorm from the sands outside, shutting off anything it could find—phones, alarms, the lanterns in the lounge.
Students would shiver—because it's cold in the desert at night, even though the dorm attempted for its wind to be warm, maybe even cooling—before quickly snuggling into blankets that were brought up to their chins.
The wind would make its rounds, then return to the housewarden with a warm brush against his shoulders.
Stand.
And he would, and he—along with gentle input from the dorm—would choose when the sun would rise and the mirror leading to the outside world would leave where it was buried in the sands.
After the incident over the winter break, the prefect—understandably—was hesitant to step into Scarabia for quite some time. Kalim waited—the dorm waited. And, eventually, the prefect took the housewarden's hand, stepping into the portal after him.
The dorm waited. Waited until dinner, until the prefect sat themselves next to Jamil without coaxing, until dessert was being passed around while students were lounging on cushions with lanterns illuminating the space from overhead.
A warm gust swept through the lounge before the lanterns were dimmed in unison, letting the moonlight through properly the curtains.
A minute of silence passed before a giggle came from the housewarden, a tired—yet relieved— sigh from the vice, and a confused sound from the prefect when the students shrugged and got comfortable where they were.
Kalim had reached over and led them down to lay completely, letting a gust of wind float a shawl over their form. The vice would sigh and relent when the housewarden did the same to him. Jamil had shot them a look that said 'go with it' as Kalim flopped down beside them.
The wind had brought them a light blanket, letting it fall gently on top of them and swirling around them as Kalim tucked the three of them in. Then, it left for the others.
To Kalim, the wind had brought back a count of everyone in the dorm, an accurate head count of everyone in the dorm. A number upped by one, upped by the person whose breath was slowing beside him. Whose shawl was brought tighter around them by a soft wind and what felt like a gentle caress to their cheek.

Pomefiore is certainly not lacking mirrors.
But sevens is it reserved about them.
Out of the dorms, Pomefiore is definitely the one who isn't hesitant to make its opinion known.
If too many students have gotten up at ungodly hours in the morning just to practice that perfect stroke of their eyeliner, or practicing a spell they've perfected by now and are essentially deluding themselves into thinking something is wrong.
And when that happens...
Vil feels a harsh tug to his side of the bond with the dorm, harsh enough send him stumbling backwards—and Rook somehow always catches him, hiding giggles because "My, Roi du Poison, you know what that means" and Vil will sigh, and ask him to order a dorm meeting while smoothing out the space between his eyebrows.
Vil will be sat on his chair when the dorm files into the lounge, and once the last person crosses the threshold of the door—
The door will slam shut, and the ornamental design decorating the back of Vil's chair—what resembles a peacock's proud feathers—will snap shut.
First years (the first few times this happens) will jump, while everyone else (those accustomed to it) breath a rare sigh of relief.
Quietly, students will return to their rooms, and upperclassmen will teach underclassmen how to remove their makeup the way the dorm wants them to. Gentle on the skin, and the proper usage of face products after ward.
A period of rest, not unlike Scarabia's tradition. Only, here...
No one is expected to be perfect. Just for a little while.
And it's freeing. The showers and baths will warm themselves, and petals will be scattered onto the surface of the rippling water of the prepared in the baths. After letting the warm water relax their muscles, their free to do whatever they want.
As long as they turn around all the mirrors in the dorm. Not one should be visible. It's harder to both envision someone judging you or to judge yourself when you're restricted from staring at yourself in the mirror. It's even harder when the lights are dimmed.
[No one is allowed to say a word of judgement to anyone during this time.]
These periods of rest will happen at least once a month. Because...everyone seems to reach that point once a month in the dorm's eyes.
It thought its students were bad.
And then the prefect stepped through the mirror.
Vil had to resist the harshest of tugs while they were speaking to him, eyes bags prominent, fingers hiding the slightest shake, and yet. Yet.
They had kind eyes. Their face seemed too tired to form a smile, but they gave him a polite nod and brightness shined in their eyes and—
The dorm tugged.
And Vil couldn't do anything. Yet.
His(and the dorm's) opportunity came when the prefect stayed over while their dorm was being renovated[renovated] by S.T.Y.X. after Idia's overblot.
They stepped into the dorm, they settled in, and the lights dimmed immediately.
They had squeaked softly when Rook brought them to their feet and fell silent when Vil led them to the baths. It was slightly jarring, seeing so many Pomefiore students wiping off their make up and—and slouching. Epel was using his accent and no one said a word.
It was even more jarring to spend the entire night being...being pampered.
It was even more jarring to fall asleep in a soft bed with warm blankets that gently held them down and a pillow that cradled their head so comfortingly. Then, the phantom sensation of a kiss to their forehead.
𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟: 𝐈𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐡𝐲𝐝𝐞
Ignihyde is a living machine dedicated towards the comfort of its inhabitants.
Students who rarely leave their rooms other than for classes, and barely take care of themselves beyond personal hygiene because they're glued to their devices.
The dorm provides breakfast each morning, if you come down to the communal area and retrieve it yourself. No sending someone down for you, or inventions designed for convenience; if you want warm breakfast, you must come yourself.
It works most of the time.
The dorm is kept stocked with water or vitamins that it chooses went to dispense. Each room has a chute beside the bed. If something appears from it, you must take it, grumbles and all.
Most of this is Idia's doing. Not the chutes or the forced care, no, he's just the worst, so the dorm has forced it upon everyone in case they take after their housewarden.
Most of the magic that resides in Ignihyde—since the students busy themselves with non-magical technology—resides within the dorm itself.
Temperature is incredibly important to the dorm. It fixates on it, tugs Idia into its digital worries when the heat begins to build.
Ignihyde is a cold place because it quite literally has to be.
Heat builds, so the cold combating it builds, so the dorm takes on another task of keeping its souls warm and comfortable. It's not a difficult task—Ignihyde has been happily doing this task for years, and takes pride of only having to fully shut down once a month—but the housewarden's influence on the dorm annoys it to no end.
Anger, annoyance—anything that makes Idia's flare red, makes the dorm's heat spike. It's fixed within the second, but the solution is to plummet the temperature before anything short circuits. Meaning, blankets rush down chutes and hot beverages start to pour from the automated systems in the communal area just as cold souls come down looking for something warm.
Still, the dorm tugs at Idia with a solemn attitude, wishing it could do more. Maybe he, as housewarden, could do more.
And then the prefect began coming around each week.
Bags held in their arms, with many more being carried by a hovering Ortho behind them. They handed something back to him—a card—and made their way to the communal area, opening up all the fridges and beginning to place food inside.
The dorm remembers Ortho allowing it access to his optics, so it could watch closer as this foreign soul busied themself with providing for the ones of Ignihyde. Proper food was put into the fridges, with healthy alternatives to the things the students already ate as well as ingredients in case any of them dared to stay down long enough to cook something.
And they kept doing it.
Each week without fail—even if it was the Shrouds' credit card being used—provisions were brought. And as the weeks passed, more and more was taken and needed to be replaced. The dorm cheered with pulsing lights when the prefect placed a basket in front of the housewarden's door, and continued to do so with little, silly notes.
Ignihyde adores the prefect.

The storm that circles over the Diasomnia dorm has been there since...anyone can remember. The lightening within it crackles whenever Malleus angers, illuminates the path way for late night owls searching for the kitchen or returning to their dorm, and becomes pleasant ambience once you've spent enough time outside in the storm to realize it won't hurt you.
The thorns along the path share the same story. Night falls inside the pocket dimension, and the vines unravel to cover the stone path to hinder intruders or students leaving the dorm without the housewarden's or his vice's permission.
But they curl into themselves in the early morning, letting students pass without the risk of clothes snagging, or worse, tearing. In the early morning, thunder booms in time with a loud chime through the castle, serving as a more...urgent reminder to rise from their beds.
[With Silver, if the dorm sees he has not risen by his fourth alarm, the windows will begin to rattle just loud enough for him to wake up thinking he left them closed the night before. If that doesn't work and Sebek has not yet arrived, Malleus will receive a prompt tug towards Silver's dorm.]
When Malleus closes himself in his room, the dorm chills with him. In the lounge, the fireplace keeps itself lit on cold days, throughout the day and the night. The storm grows larger, but the wind that hits the windows is gentle. Nobody is brave enough to ask if that is Malleus's influence, or the dorm stepping in.
For the past nights of the last month, the dorm has counted one missing from its nightly rounds within the castle. The dorm's housewarden.
It tugs when he returns each night, questioning where he has been. The castle groans when he doesn't give it a direct answer, but he seems...happy when he returns. So the dorm lets him go each night, making its rounds and relaxing when he returns each night.
But Malleus slips one evening, and the dorm feels the rush of affection towards one prefect.
It's curious now, tugging at him to bring them into the mirror since the dorm itself has no power outside this place and can't bring them itself. It tugs at him to share his nightly adventures with the prefect, or the simple walks they share while speaking with each other.
The night Malleus told them dorm of Ramshackle, back in the days it was in...less than optimal condition, thunder and fire flaring jolted students up right, no matter the year they were in.
Now, the tugging is insistent, the dorm demanding Malleus bring the prefect to Diasomnia. So, Malleus relents. The prefect arrives in Diasomnia on a visit for the first time and has to be wrestled from a bush of thorns that was holding them so gently.
From Malleus's influence, or simply the dorm's, nobody will ever know.
𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟: 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐞
There's no Ramshackle student alive to tell the prefect whether or not the dorm was like the others; alive, to some capacity.
When things move on their own, it's was from the influence of the three ghosts that roam the halls and are fond of the prefect. When things move, the prefect didn't question it and simply returns it to the rightful place. If it's there again the next time they saw it, they'd sigh and accept that is the new rightful place.
However, the ghosts have started moving things less and less. With the dorm rebuilt and the prefect putting them selves to cleaning the dorm each Saturday, they hardly want to make a mess of things. Instead, laundry is done and folded by the time the prefect returns from school. Curtains are beat of their dust, and mirrors are suspiciously clean.
The prefect has long grown used to the odd sounds that come from Ramshackle. Yes, it was renovated, but it's still an old building. An old foundation, and everything inside it that belonged to the previous students is still there and kept clean along with everyone else.
They've resigned to doing everything themselves, not exactly needing a dorm that was alive, when it was just them, Grim, and the ghosts.
And whatever has started to open the door for them when they go to leave in the morning.
The prefect....chooses not to question it. It turns off all the candles when they leave, and turns them back on promptly at eight in the evening. Whatever it is, its becoming more lively, more eager to assist in quite ways.
The prefect believes its regaining its strength. It dies down when people visit, acting dormant, then springs back to life with quiet embers in the fire place.
So, actually, it's Grim, the prefect, the ghosts, and Ramshackle, the dorm.

About how they'd sorta...kind of...most of the time...forget you're not even apart of their dorm. It's just that, you're there so often, you can't blame them for giving you a task that any of first year would have perfected this far into the year and stare at you until they realize your confused expression is perfectly warranted.
"Huh? Didn't I say to—"
"Dawg."🧍♀️
"...ooooh. Right."
[^ I'd say Cater and Deuce do this the most, but Riddle slips up in his tiny ways as well. His anger dies down quickly dw]
About how, in the beginning, they'd quirk any eyebrow at your blank face, before realizing they have no authority to paint it. Now, their hands twitch to do it, and any chance to get close to you with something that marks, they have to silence a little voice that whispers to go through with it, Prefect won't question it, they never do, don't they?
About how the upper classman spend some nights together in the kitchen, debating what suit you would've gotten should you had been sorted into the dorm while Trey bakes for when you and the other two wake in the morning. Cater thinks you'd be a heart, while Riddle argues you'd be a spade. Trey laughs and says you'd make a good card soldier no matter what suit you had.
[Riddle aches at the idea of calling you one of his own.]
About how they mention some Heartslabyul tradition, one where other dorm's members can't attend, unlike Unbirthday parties, which are open by invite. But then, they(Riddle) turns around and asks to confirm your presence there.
"You'll be attending, yes?"
"Didn't you—didn't you just say it was dorm exclusive?"
"...you'll be attending. Yes?"
"I never said no—!"
[Riddle seems to act personally offended when you suggest not going. Even to an Unbirthday party.]
About how they silently pride themselves on being the first dorm to truly accept you, to become close friends. Even after so long, you come to them first, and they wear that fact with honor. You really can't blame them for the prideful smirks they shoot others when you gravitate to them, feel safe with them, in their dorm.
[Ace is obnoxious when it comes to this, but Trey is, surprisingly, a close second.]
About how they never, ever allowed you to spend the night after an overblot(or any similar, maybe traumatizing event) alone at Ramshackle. Leona's? The first hesitant invite to have tea with them all, after the interdorm competition, which lead to you being roped into a sleep over. Ace practically dragged you after Azul's, the two being scolded while you were being fed cookies from Trey in the background. After Jamil's, since you weren't technically allowed to use your phone for anything the headmaster doesn't give the ok to, you spent the week after winter break in Heartlsabyul.
Trey, while he wouldn't say it to Vil's face, didn't exactly agree with the other's opinion of a diet during the the training for the VDC. You, Ace, and Deuce were subjected to un-diet tactics, which you were all thankful for. After returning from S.T.Y.X., you and Riddle were greeted by the four, and forced to stay in their line of sight until they said so. And Malleus...
That was the longest you've spent in Heartslabyul.
Arms tightened around your middle, a face nuzzling into your shoulder. There was no need for a blanket with how much body heat was being shared between just you, Ace, and Deuce. But the other three had joined tonight, so it was even warmer.
It was nice.
[Words couldn't be strung together at how rattled they are at you not existing in their dreams. Ace thinks if he holds you tight enough, you'll stay.]
About how there's a uniform tucked deep into Riddle's closet, your exact measurements, just waiting to be gifted. A kit given to all first years to paint their suit hidden in Cater's. A miniature book of rules meant to be gifted in Trey's wardrobe. But of course, there are rules set by the college and "The mirror's words must be honored! Their state of magiclessness will not change; how could they transfer to Heartslabyul?"
[Riddle has never wanted to collar the headmage more. Trey had a tight hand on his shoulder the whole meeting.]
About how they're one of the only dorms not ashamed to care. They're not ashamed to step in front of you (even though they know you hate it) or to take the extra time out of their day(s)'s to visit Ramshackle just to see you. How, when you look away, more food is put onto your tray. How they won't take no for an answer when it comes to your health.
About how they can't help but think everything would be the same if you were one them. You are but...it would be nice for it to be on paper, no?
Im trying to find a twst fic/series where the reader gets isekaied into an otome game as the antagonist and everyone was a magical creature, I specifically remember that riddle was an angel and vil was an elf and there was a part where you picked an accessory that decided what ending you got with what character
Imagine walking into the woods behind ramshackle, holding hands while silver carries the flashlight. eventually he leads you to a meadow where you both lay down, turning off the flashlight to see the stars in their full glory.
if you've never seen the stars before then the moment you do silence falls over you like a spell, maybe it is a spell. but in that moment you realize, that despite what the world may have done to you, your sense of wonder still isn't lost. and when you finally look at silver he's just staring at you, happy that you're as fascinated by the stars as him
If you have then it's one of the few moments where he doesn't fall asleep. he stays awake and points out all the constellations that are so new and unfamiliar to you, like that of the direbeast. and you tell him of the ones that look so similar to the constellations back home, both of you just living in the moment.
Inspired by the fact that I've just seen the stars for the first time in my life

Your neglected child Yuu was so cute and now I can’t help thinking about the Vices
Trey probably dotes on them a lot. He might even see it as a way to redeem himself for being unable to help Riddle as a kid
Ruggie def has a soft spot for kids and you can fight me on that. Would probably be a great babysitter
Jade… what can I say about Jade. Idk actually
I can’t imagine Jamil would be as gung-ho about brainwashing a child but he’d also definitely want to use Crowley’s favoritism to his advantage
Rook would probably find child Yuu adorable. I can imagine him teaching them how to shoot a tiny little bow (no one knows how he got one)
Ortho and child Yuu bestie supremacy. That’s all I have to say. No it’s not. I imagine Ortho and Yuu would have this whole “discovering the world together dynamic” due to their separate circumstances but they’d also do it together
Lilia would see child Yuu and scoop them up before presenting them to Silver like “new sibling just dropped” especially if he felt they weren’t being properly cared for
Aww, this is so sweet.
Trey goes into dad/big brother mode as soon as he finds out there's a little kid at NRC without parents and, above all, with clear signs of being malnourished. Trey tries to balance giving Yuu lots of sweets and sugary things with healthier options so they doesn't end up with any additional health problems. They've also developed a great habit of cooking together! This way, Trey knows exactly what Yuu likes and dislikes, ensuring he won't have a problem if the kid is picky—we all have our tastes!
Whenever Yuu says something related to the way they was raised or about their parents, Trey can't help but get a strange feeling of nostalgia that makes him feel sick. He tries to keep Yuu from thinking about their parents most of the time, but above all, he tries to be as assertive as possible about the fact that what Yuu's parents did was WRONG, that they're a good kid, that they're not a burden, etc. Basically, he's trying to do what he should have done a long time ago.
Ruggie initially thought Yuu was a lost child, maybe a teacher's kid. He doesn't trust Crowley AT ALL to take care of Yuu, so every time he sees them (be it in the cafeteria or somewhere else), he tries to check on them in a lively way (asking them if they're okay, if they're eaten anything recently, if Crowley is watching them). Yuu likes to be around Ruggie to play; they thinks he's fun, and Ruggie takes it as a compliment.
Ruggie is used to children and can read them well, so he notices something is wrong with Yuu (and at first, he thought Crowley was the culprit). Ruggie tells Yuu that if an adult hurts them, they should go directly to him for help (Leona owes him one, after all). But he calms down and feels bad when Yuu explains about their parents. At least he assures Yuu that they won't have to see them again.
Jade is terrifying to Yuu; whenever he tries to interact with them, Yuu runs away like their life depends on it. Ironically, they're friendlier to Floyd (because he's much friendlier to little kids in general), and they tend to play a few games when Yuu has nothing to do and Floyd is bored (things like racing Yuu on Floyd's shoulders, Floyd grabbing Yuu by the arms and spinning them around, etc.).
Floyd doesn't really realize that Yuu has a troubled past until Jade points it out. When he does, however, he assures Yuu that if their parents (or anyone, really) try to hurt them again, he'll happily squeeze them :)
Jamil has mixed feelings about Yuu. On one hand, they're the sweetest kid around, but on the other, he uses Crowley's favoritism toward them whenever he can. This doesn't mean Jamil doesn't take care of Yuu, of course not. He makes sure they eat at least three times a day, get some exercise, and study. He's like a mother hen, and he worries A LOT when Yuu gets hurt or starts crying for any reason. He has a younger sister, so I like to think he's relatively good at comforting them.
Jamil doesn't really treat Yuu any differently after learning of their past, but he does make a point of not doing certain things that might remind them of their trauma, things like leaving them alone for too long, yelling at them, and raising his hands when angry (along with teaching Yuu that if they feels bad, whether physically or emotionally, to go to him or an adult). Above all, Jamil got used to Yuu feeling SAFE around him and made sure it stays that way.
Rook thinks Yuu is the cutest little thing ever, constantly lifting them up in the air like they're a stuffed animal and hugging them (if they complains to him he'll stop, but if not, he'll carry on as if Yuu were his personal teddy bear). The idea of him trying to teach Yuu how to shoot a tiny bow and arrow is hilarious (everyone is worried about two things: 1- Rook using himself to prop up Yuu's apples for a target shoot, and 2- WHERE THE HELL DID HE GET A BOW FOR SUCH A YOUNG KID?). Vil is going to have a heart attack because of them both.
Rook is a big brother; let's just say he has a sixth sense when Yuu is feeling particularly bad. During these times, Rook tends to act especially theatrical in an attempt to cheer them up, or he even tries to talk to Yuu about how they're feeling to see if he can do anything for them (Rook definitely joins Floyd and Ruggie's "I hate Yuu's biological parents" squad, but he's more silly and discreet about it).
I've already talked about Ortho and the first-years here.
Lilia formally knows Yuu as a friend of Malleus, but he thinks they're the cutest things in life. he's constantly on their tail, appearing out of nowhere (scaring Yuu in the process, though Lilia is good at calming them down with a lullaby), showing up at Ramshackle to make sure they have food and good living conditions, though eventually he just shows up one day, grabs Yuu and Grim like a sack of potatoes, and decides they'd have better living conditions in Diasomnia (partly to spite Crowley. The custody battle will be legendary).
Lilia does the typical things a father should do with his children: read them a bedtime story, tuck them in, pack them lunch for the day (he doesn't cook it, Silver or Sebek does), and is very likely one of the few adults Yuu ends up accidentally calling "dad" (Lilia will have to be restrained from doing an express adoption right there). Overall, the little kid has made its way into the old general's heart.
For this reason, he is very patient when it comes to comforting Yuu about their original "family." He usually soothes them with a lullaby and puts them to bed in Diasomnia, but not before going to "talk" to Crowley about it.
Let's just say Yuu has all of NRC in the palm of their little hand, but it's not something the students complain about.
________
Malleus watched you exchanging amusing jokes and laughing heartily with Lilia, but somehow he was the one out of breath.
Every time he heard the sound of your laughter, a warm smile would instantly grace his face and happy thoughts would come rushing to his mind.
It was early in the morning when he decided to wander by the sea alongside you and Lilia.
The spring breeze blew calmly, and the sun shone gloriously like amber.
“Malleus,” Lilia stopped on his track, looking at the fae prince. “Will you stop staring at your beloved spouse already?”
Your husband was gazing at you the whole time with a failed attempt to hide his wide smile, the same lovely smile that stole your heart many years ago.
“It amazes me that my darling is still here with us. I still can’t believe it.”
“Dramatic as ever.” you teased him in a good natured tone. “You better believe it now, my love.”
You were supposed to return to where you came from during your third year, but somehow you were destined to stay here.
After all, you believed that sometimes a home wasn’t a place.
It was a feeling.
It was being with the people whom you truly loved and cared for.
It was being with the people who appreciated having you in their lives, and loved you back wholeheartedly.
“There’s no place I’d rather be.” you beamed a bright smile.
Malleus could only stare at you.
Even now, he still felt wonderstruck at how you seemed to bring the warmth and radiance of the sun wherever you go.
When he thought that his winter heart couldn’t bloom into a beautiful spring any further, it did.
