Summary: Newly-widowed Alice (Souhelia Yacoub) stays at her in-laws as they grieve the death of her husband Will (George Pullar). She also has to watch and fight for her life as, one by one, they turn into Deadites.

Serviceable sixth entry that's more a sequel to 2013 film than to Rise. Gore aplenty and Deadites best part.

Summary: Effi (Leisa Gwenllian), an aimless young woman from a small North Welsh town, finds her life taking a turn after a chance encounter with a soldier (Tom Rhys Harries) on a night out.

Bleak Welsh kitchen sink adaptation of monodrama that provides commentary on NHS in 2026. Gwenllian spectacular in titular role.

Summary: Just-about-married couple Joe (Seth Rogen) and Angela (Olivia Wilde) have their mysterious upstairs neigbours (Edward Norton and Penélope Cruz) round for the evening. Things take unexpected turns.

Deliciously awkward and hilarious four-hander that run risks of being repetitive and ends on surprisingly sombre note (heh).

Summary: Matt Johnson (himself) and Jay McCarrol (himself) have spent the last seventeen years trying to get a gig at The Rivoli, and go to extreme lengths in continued attempts to do so.

Gripping and absolutely hysterical genre-blending mockumentary long in the making that is accessible to newcomers of lore. Go in blind.

Summary: Kara Zor-El (Milly Alcock) spends a great deal of her time drinking and partying. When tragedy strikes, she must team up with Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley), herself on a quest for revenge.

Fine superhero film with strong soundtrack (despite out-of-place "The Middle" cover) and a good performance from Alcock.

Summary: Jennifer (Charlee Danielson) has seven clitorises; Batz (Anthony Sneed) has a sentient penis. Neither are satisfied with sex with regular people.

Bonkers trash that has twisted charm and suitably flat performances, albeit not quite as envelope-pushing as it could be.

Hilarious space romp that is packed with puns, and has refreshing ending and beautiful animation. Happy Pride!

Summary: After spending 15yrs in prison for bank robbery, Anker (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) gets out to find that his brother, Manfred (Mads Mikkelsen), to whom he had entrusted the stolen money, has developed dissociative identity disorder and has forgotten where he has buried it.

Dryly funny Danish comedy that features strong performances and actually funny Holocaust joke. Too many epilogues drag it down, though.

Summary: Andrea "Andy" Sachs (Anne Hathaway) returns to Runway and helps the tyrannical Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) navigate the 2020s.

Better-than-expected sequel with much to say about modern journalism and confidence (or lack thereof) in abilities (or lack thereof).

Summary: Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) is devastated after her snooty, ambitious boyfriend Warner Huntington III (Matthew Davis) breaks up with her. She follows him to law school in order to try and win him back.

Charming and influential '00s comedy that still holds up, is led by bubbly Wetherspoon, and avoids being too toxic.

Summary: Piano tuner Niki White (Leo Woodall) uses his sensitivity to sound to help mentor Harry (Dustin Hoffman) with his medical debt. In order to do this, he turns to safe cracking.

Engrossing, dryly funny crime thriller which answers the question "what would happen if a Safdie film took ADHD meds?".

Summary: Wedding singer Rick Power (Paul Rudd) gets drunk and jams with former boyband singer Danny Wilson (Nick Jonas). When Danny uses a song Rick wrote to (successfully) reignite his solo career, Danny sets out to prove that the song is his.

Funny and sharp two-hander with apt meta casting, solid supporting roles, and banger soundtrack (as expected from musical film).

Summary: Three sisters (Scarlett Johansson, Emily Beecham, and Sienna Miller) reunite for their twice-widowed mother's (Kristin Scott Thomas) third wedding, each with their own problems.

Very safe semi-autobiographical Film4 filler with egregious (but somewhat justifiable) focus on Navy. Decent humour and Miller best part, though.

Summary: After years in hiding, Prince Adam of Eternia (Nicholas Galitzine) returns to his homeworld to become the hero he was destined to be and defeat arch-nemesis Skeletor (Jared Leto) in the process.

Amiable, colourful fare that shows Galitzine's leading man potential. Could've been shorter and campier, greenscreen ropey, and Leto unfortunately good.

Summary: Based on the life of Henry Paget, 5th Marquess of Anglesey (Callum Scott Howells), whose extravagance bankrupts the isle itself.

Historical drama that would be passable were it not for Howells, who elevates film with engaging turn.
