When you look back at the pain that you were in now, how did that weigh on you? In talking to Steve [Milton] – we sat down for about eight hours and chatted – luckily, Scott was there because he remembers things so clearly that I’ve obviously blocked out – I realized just how powerful your mind can be because you forget what those dark times were like. And talking to him forced me to go back into that place and it’s not easy. It’s so unsettling. I guess it makes me realize what progress I’ve made. But it’s hard to go back and think about that and talk about it, especially as it relates to our partnership. I felt for Scott who was healthy the whole time. And looking back on certain programs and seasons of ours, I think we had potential, but we just were never able to really see it through training-wise to the level that we probably deserved and that’s on me. So that’s not easy to face. And I wish that things could’ve been different. But at the same time, maybe we wouldn’t have ended up with the experience in Pyeongchang without those obstacles. Because on the flipside, to reframe it, sometimes I would take the ice and think – our competitors are amazing I have such admiration for them, but they’ve not been through – I guarantee you – they’ve not been through the hardships that we’ve been through. They’ve had their own difficulties but geez… It’s kind of nice to feel, ‘Okay, we have such strength in knowing that we overcame so much together.’
