it's just not. it just doesn't fit the definition like sunny just doesn't do that. (also lately especially I've seen people throw this word around for literally any non canon/implicit queer ship, like, y'all pls look up the definition of the word) these are characters with a homoerotic dynamic that is very much intentional and acknowledged by the cast (who are also the showrunners). and it's done without a hidden motif or anything, like it's genuinely for the love of the game. I mean the cast are all huge allies (and a little fruity themselves but that's for another time). the problematic is part is that they're still not cannon after 20 years. but like… are they not? and why aren't they? these are characters who are romantically involved in every way but in name and there are several episodes of the show where their relationship is compared to a romantic one (if this newest seasons doesn't prove their cannonicity idk what does). it's just that they won't admit to their relationship being anything but platonic (not that I think it can be reduced to just one label) and it's not like a committed committed romantic one. why they won't go cannon in this fashion has nothing to do with the fact that the ship is queer, it's not an issue for anybody. it's not an issue for the cast or the rest of the staff or the network or anything. hell it's not even an issue within the show. it's mainly dennis who keeps slipping away (not that I think mac is suited to be in a committed relationship either) but it's not a question of queerness. like, he has way bigger personal issues regarding relationships getting in the way. in the tags you seem to be frustrated that one character in the ship (mac) is canonically gay while the other (dennis) is still just implied queer hence the queerbaiting. dennis is a queer character. proof? I mean bro just look. and the sinned system is just the cherry on top. either way, idk if you know this but it appears that you don't, but he has been confirmed to be a queer character, going back as 10+ years ago. the earliest instance I can think of is from 2009. which confirms both him and mac to be "closeted homosexuals" and their relationship to be romantic. dennis has his reasons as to why he won't admit to being queer, it's not about the writers being cowards and refusing to make that canon. the actual reasons as to why macdennis is not "cannon" yet are the characters' personal issues (both dennis' and mac's regarding emotional intimacy and well, just each other in general lol and in earlier seasons mac's internalized homophobia) and the writers refuse to resolve that cus like. this is always sunny after all. so of course you're not going to get a conventional romance. macdennis is full of unconventional homoeroticism and it's not because of being subtle or any other restriction typical for certain tv shows (cause god forbid they actually openly include lgbt rep) or staying in the gray area so the creators may or may not confirm their cannonicity (I mean it's funny because sunny has gotta be the most, sure unconventionally, but casually homoerotic show ever). sunny is just that kind of show. they won't make macdennis canon simply because they can. glenn howerton has said himself how it would be funnier if it didn't go cannon. yeah why not make it a ridiculously long slowburn. don't cite me on this but I've also heard that they've said they were afraid of it ruining the gang's dynamic

just to clarify I personally usually only ship ships that I think have a solid basis (not necessarily canon) but I understand some people aren't restricted by that

I don't really care if celebrities get plastic surgery though it is incredibly ironic for rob to do it lmao and his downturned eyes and eyebrows were his signature features, but all I'm asking for is for him to grow out some facial hair cause why does he look so squeaky clean like he shaved 3 minutes before they started rolling. it's merely a question of character design really. it's all ryan reynolds fault i swear

also i clocked the chin but i was also wondering why he looks so different in s17. im not one to judge peoples choices regarding plastic surgery but i will say, that macs downturned puppy dog eyes were so fucking beautiful, it makes me sad to think its something he was/is self conscious about 💔

I do miss the puppy eyes because they were literally his defining facial features and I feel like they really fit his character too. same goes for the beard. once someone has worn it for so long they start to look uncanny without it and the clean shaven neatly cut hair look doesn't fit mac's "white trash" character imo
