I didn’t know how to sew but my dumb ass decided to make pretty much everything except the trousers. Shirt, long cravat, short cravat, Fleur-de-lis stencil etc. It was a bad idea. Also very stupid.

Now that I think back, I was so lucky to have seen him in these four roles. I feel like he kicked me off to a deep rabbit hole as he jumped off the bridge on stage. I've fallen, and I can’t get up lol.

But it’s so sad to see him go. I cried a little yesterday. My ideal Javert… will I ever see him again? I don’t know.

So I went to the West End for the first time in my life and I saw Jordan Simon Pollard as Javert. Oh my goodness, he was exactly what I imagined Javert would be. His portrayal was just perfect.

He was so sweet at the stage door and he signed the bear I brought and took pictures with me.

Modern AU Valvert

I wrote a fanfic a while ago, and I decided to make a cover for it as well, so this is it.

Rolling Javert (Rolling Girl)

I got these Les Mis bears today…!!!!!!

They’re so fluffy, and their big round eyes are so fricking adorable! I love how Javear’s tummy is half exposed… so cute. Thank you for coming all the way down to the Southern Hemisphere. I promise I’ll take you to London to see Les Mis!!!

Someone was interested in the process of making these costumes so here it is.

I never learned how to make clothes and I don’t really enjoy sewing lol. I just want the end product. Things I do for les mis… crazy.

Anyway, I don’t think I’m qualified to talk anything about sewing but these are what I did.

Shirt

Any Victorian men’s shirt pattern should work well. I initially calculated my measurements and made one with gussets but it took too long so I ended up buying a pattern.

I referenced too many Valjeans for distressing the convict shirt. I winged writing 24601 on a scrap of fabric and stained it with instant coffee.

Javert’s jacket

I used the high neck tailcoat pattern as a base. I looked at one of Earl’s Javert costume over and over to make modifications to the pattern. (Collar, cuffs, front panel etc)

Vests

I got patterns from DRCOS and modified the collar for both of them. (DRCOS instructions didn’t really make sense to a complete beginner but some of their patterns are free so I’m the problem)

Cravat and the sash-looking thing that students and Javert wear (sorry, I don’t know what this is called… please tell me what this is)

Nothing special. It’s just a long piece of rectangle… I just made sure to measure my neck length for the cravat. I made a short cravat for Javert after seeing Stewart Clarke’s tiktok.

Fleur-de-lis stencil

I cut out the shape on a thin soft plastic. I placed it on the chest and I used the mixture of brown and red eyeshadows and basically packed it onto the skin. Then I prayed some setting spray so the brand doesn’t come off.

I’m damn good at putting brands on people’s skin lol. I think I could be a good prison guard. Maybe.

I made Javert’s jacket in 2021 when I first discovered Earl Carpenter. All the others were made in 2025 when Arena Spectacular tour was announced. I wore the white shirt to Brisbane’s les mis concerts…

Then I can do this shit with my friends. All that stupid hard work paid off lol.
