BMW E38 7-series MLRS, 2025. In Ukraine, a third-generation (1995–2001) 7 series has been fitted with a 122mm Grad rocket to create a multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS). Ukraine’s 114th Territorial Defence Brigade has repurposed the civilian vehicle as a creative solution amid equipment shortages. The soldiers wind out the legs from the launcher frame to keep the BMW stable before firing. Once fired, the unarmoured car is able to escape quickly to avoid Russian drone surveillance and counter-battery fire. Slava Ukraini! (Слава Україні!)

Nissan R35 GT-R, 2025. The final R35 series GT-R has rolled off the production line at Nissan’s Tochigi plant, located about 100 km north of Tokyo. It is the end of an 18-year production run for the model during which time approximately 48,000 cars were produced. The final car was a Premium edition T-Spec finished in Midnight purple. Nissan remains committed to the GT-R nameplate with a vision to reimagine it for a new generation, though no hints about what that reimagining might be

While we wait for the white smoke Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman Landaulet Popemobile, 1965. I thought it might be fun to reflect on some past popemobiles while we wait for news of the new Bishop of Rome. Mercedes-Benz has supplied Vatican vehicles since 1931. They built two of these special W100 series for Pope Paul VI and the cars were kept by the Vatican for two decades, returning them to Mercedes in 1985 to be incorporated into the Mercedes-Benz Classic collection.
