Tuk Tuk Okay

For the temples, there are three general day rates for Tuktuks in Siem Reap called the Small, Great and Grand circuits. The small circuit incorporates the three most popular temples Angkor Wat, Ta Phrom (Tomb Raider) and Bayon (Heads) and has a different route to the Great circuit that does not incorporate those temples. 

The Grand circuit is made up of the Great circuit plus adds The Lady’s Temple 37km away.The ‘Small’ circuit is called small because of the shorter distance travelled, even though there are more temples involved (9 in total), in relation to the Great and Grand circuits and from this we get the ascending price levels due to distance travelled. 

The Grand circuit with the Lady’s temple is by far the longest and has the highest price. The different journeys and price difference are outlined on the ‘Services’ tab though do not feel limited to these as you may customise your daily journey anyway you would like. It is important to note that Tuktuk rates are per Tuktuk and not per person. Four people hiring the Tuktuk for the journey will pay the same amount as one person hiring the Tuktuk and so the price per person will be a quarter. 

On top of the Tuktuk price to explore the temples, daily Archeological site entry tickets must be purchased while entering the site on the first day. These tickets are non-transferable as the purchases photograph taken at the point of purchase is printed onto the ticket.

The more days purchased the cheaper the daily rate, One day $37 (Valid only on day of purchase) Three days $62 (Valid 3 days during the 10 day period from the date of purchase) One week $72 (Valid over 7 days during the one month period from the date of purchase) (Also important to note especially for the single day ticket; If the ticket is purchased after 5.00pm, one may enter the archaeological park to see the sunset and look at the temples and as well the ticket is valid for the whole of the following day for those looking to maximise their viewing)Children 11 years and younger are free when showing their passportAll Cambodians are free.

The Small and Great circuit Tuktuk journeys begin at $18, while the much longer Grand circuit is $25. These are outlined on the ‘Services’ tab. The Beng Maelae Temple journey 62km distance does not require an Archeological site ticket but does have a $5 entry fee with the Tuktuk costing $40 For a more interesting experience an early sunrise over the temples can be experienced leaving at 4.45am from Siem Reap and costing an extra $5 daily.   

These rates vary through the high and low season with rates obviously higher in the high season. At each temple the visitors are dropped off to explore on foot while the Tuktuk waits in the shade.   Optional tour guides can be hired at the temples for prices ranging for about $5 though professional government approved guides start at about $35 for the day in English with higher rates for different languages. Food, coffee and water can be purchased around the temple complex with prices varying greatly and generally much more than town.Aside from standard Temple tours the Tuktuk may be hired for a daily rate of $18-$23 (about 8 to 10 hours) depending on the number of hours and distance travelled. If large distances or extremely early leaving times are required to be undertaken then the daily rate will be higher.

 A day rate does not need to be consecutive hours but can be spread over various trips, intra day pickups, set offs, trips into town and back from the hotel such as visits to the circus at night after the temples.There are two floating village, one 20km away which usually fits into a half day tour of about $18 for the Tuktuk and one 38km away usually incorporated into a full day tour costing $30. The entry into the floating village sites costs $20 per person including the boat to take visitors into the village on the water. Note that the more days hired does not make the price cheaper as the rates are at very good value to begin with.
