[SAILOR MOON >MY HERO]
From the very beginning, there was something off about the daimon, something that Mercury had voiced but couldn’t pin down, even with her computer. Something about a different energy signature than the others. Usagi wasn’t sure, she was more focused on dodging attacks than what her friend had been saying. Usagi was a fighter thanks to destiny, but she was no strategist, that was Venus’s job as the leader. And naturally, Venus had responded to Mercury, though what she said, Usagi didn’t hear. At the same time as the daimon, Usagi had noticed a school girl, probably a couple of years younger than herself, cowering and trying to look for a way to get away from the fight.
Instinct took over and Sailor Moon had launched herself toward the girl as the daimon took aim. She heard the shot fired as she collided with the girl, pushing her out of harm’s way. She barely had time to right herself let alone get out of the way (she had not expected to get out of the way anyway) when she was enveloped by the daimon’s attack, hearing Tuxedo Mask scream out her name in terror before…
Well… Nothing. She felt fine. She blinked, confusion clear in her expression as she tried to process what had just happened. She didn’t have time for that, as she was being warned to duck, she looked toward the voice, spotting a boy, probably just a bit older than she was, practically sprinting toward her. She “eep"ed and did as she was told, knees wobbling when the stranger leapfrogged over her to attack the daimon.
Wait, attack the daimon?!
She looked up in time to see the beast fly back from the force of the punch, her eyes widening in shock.
Amazing!
The only person she’d ever seen do something similar was Jupiter, but she was, well, Jupiter. This stranger, he looked like just a regular person. And he had managed to throw the daimon off from her as it gathered it’s bearings and then rounded on him in anger.
With a deep breath and a mental reach, she summoned the Spiral Heart Rod to her hand with a shimmer of light and took aim.
“MOON SPIRAL HEART ATTACK!”
Her attack hit the daimon square on, the energy purifying the daimon and reverting it back to it’s original form. Once of the light from her attack dissolved, all that was left of the monster was a broken mirror and the cracked daimon egg that had been the source of it’s power.
Letting out a sigh of relief, Sailor Moon turned to attention to the stranger, sending a grateful smile his way. “Thank you for your help. You aren’t hurt, are you?”
She actually said the attack name! Kanji felt his chest bouncing with giddy glee, and that dumb, euphoric smile didn’t leave him. This really was Sailor Moon! The Sailor moon!
When she smiled at him, Kanji felt his heart nearly triple in speed. Or, least, it felt that way. A blush rose to his expression, and he nodded, dumbfounded for just a moment before he managed to find his metaphorical footin,
“You’re welcome! Man, I can’t believe it. You’re actually here! That thing, that was a portal, right? So like, you’re from ‘nother dimension or somethin, huh?”
“N’that means....” He stopped, only now realising she was asking after him. Kanji coughed, and rubbed sheepishly at the side of his neck, “Oh! Yea, yea, m’all good, Sailor Moon! No scratches or nothin.”
As if to prove his point, Kanji flexed his right arm, and slapped at one of the muscles with his left hand, that grin returning to him.
“My name’s Tatsumi Kanji! N’your Tsukino Usagi, yea?” His posture straightened, and he ducked over to her, “Don’t worry! Your secrets’ safe with me. I won’t tell nobody anythin.”
“F’you’re wonderin why I know that! In this universe, you’ve got your own animated tv show! You, n’all’a the sailor scouts. Even some movies, n’a butt load of merch.”
“It’s so great to-- to meet you! You’re my hero!”
